The reason it's called "Pinuti"

is because our elders would sharpen and polish the steel so much that it turns white especially in times of war, disputes and duels.

It was also a signal for bystanders and neighbors that shit is about to go down

Kulintang is a traditional Mindanaoan gong instrument played melodically with drums. It's microtonal and tunings differ per region and community, so Western tuning rarely applies.

A tagutok/kagul is a bamboo percussion from Mindanao that is essentially wooden, producing sharp, popping sounds that serve as the backbone of the musical run. The one we used is a rudimentary version.

The Agung is a deep-rimmed, bossed gong used in the traditional music in the southern Philippines, especially among the IP and Moro-IP groups.

The kuglung (also spelled kuglong or kuglung) is a traditional two-stringed boat lute used by the indigenous peoples of Mindanao, particularly among the Manobo, Bagobo, and other Lumad groups in the Philippines.
