“500% less” isn’t a mathematically valid discount, because you can’t reduce something by more than 100% of its value.

If you tried to calculate it:
-500% of $50 = 5 × $50 = $250
-$50 minus $250 = –$200

A negative price doesn’t make sense, so there’s no such thing as “500% less.”
