I'm going through my UFPs and finishing what I can with what I have left of my stash. Very pleased with how this lantern turned out.
a one inch scale, 6 inch tall golden staff with swirling vines wrapped around it. A glass and copper lantern hangs from a branch extending from the top. It has a very elven feel to it. There is an actual bulb inside the lantern that lights up by means of a wire running through the staff to the bottom, where it connects to a coin cell battery. There is a also a penny for scale. It is laying on graph paper of one inch squares, divided into quarters.

Sailing lesson season in #Seattle is always a wild time.

What do you do when your rescue mission runs into another rescue mission at the same facility? A tale set in Second Life.

A little white fluffy dog in a postal service costume. He has a hat on his head, pants on his front legs, a shirt that fits like an oversized collar, two stuffed arms inside the shirt, that are attached to a (presumably empty) USPS priority mail box. The dog is sitting, and its hind legs are bare. The pants are only on the front legs.

The shop I bought the earrings from last year was there again this year, so I swung by to show her what I'd done. Wouldn't you know it, she'd made ACTUAL Yzma potions and was wearing the earrings! I bought a keychain because it was bigger.

"Show us the art!" you cry. I hear ya. I sense a theme for me this year. I was wrong about the first artist's name - it's Nina Himes. Erika Rae Heins is the one who does the darling cat themed classical book covers. I suppose I should go back and make it come true?

The bag in action. It worked well for me today!

Bought these potion bottle earrings for my Yzma cosplay right before we left NorWesCon last year.
Thought: "Oh, I have a whole year to make labels for it."
*Makes the labels the day before the next Norwescon starts*
Two tiny glass potion bottles with corks, attached to earring hooks. The bottles are filled with a sparkly layered pink *potion* (I HOPE it's not liquied because one is cracked). They both sport a purposefully crooked label, not with the expected skull/llama logo from the 'Emperor's New Groove' movie, but with a similar design of a side view of a dragon. It was made to match the plush shoulder dragon I take to conventions. That dragon will be wearing kronk's hat and a chestplate that looks like his outfit. It's weird, but I reduced two women to helpless giggles in the ten minutes I ran around the con floor before leaving, and I intend to double that this year.

I believe Mary Poppins will fit in every cosplay genre through obvious accessories - colors, red bow, hat, bag, parrot. I've successfully done Pirate Poppins (see pics), Anime-ary Poppins, and had BIG plans for Fairy Poppins that got halted by my reluctance to cut up an umbrella for wings.
A renn fair style belt bag, gathered at the top and with a loop to hang on the belt. The fabric is old fashioned red and gold tapestry fabric and faux brown leather. A black tricorn 'pirate' hat with black trim. On the side is a decorative ribbon bow, called a cockade. It is made from white ribbon, pleated and formed into a circle with a gold button in the middle. On either side of it are fake red cherries with a little bit of greenery. It is holding a giant white feather in place. A clear plastic bottle with a cork, tied with a leather cord. Inside is an old fashioned, waterlogged message written on cream colored parchment paper. You can't see all of it, but it reads in giant letters: "WANTED: A Nanny for Two Adorable Children." In smaller font is the message that Jane and Michael posted in the local newpaper in the 1960's movie and also sang. "If you want this choice position . . ." A slightly blurry photo of an umbrella handle in the shape of a parrot head, with bright green feathers and a black beak. Parrots are also associated with pirates, so this was a bonus accessory to use in my Pirate Poppins cosplay. I had a bag designed to carry an umbrella with a samurai handle that I used to carry it around so it looked like I had a parrot on my shoulder.

It's been a hot minute, but I dusted off the sewing machine and made yet another bag for my Mary Poppins cosplay. The first one was too awkward, the second bag was pirate themed, and the flap wouldn't stay closed. We'll see how this sling bag does.
A vaguely triangular shaped bag lays on a 1" grid, showing the size, roughly 14" by 7", narrower at the top than the bottom. It has faux brown leather trim and a rich red and gold tapestry fabric, with a zipper near the top. Two hooks at either corner are for a strap. It is meant to be worn diagonally across the torso/chest. The first Mary Poppins bag I made. It is a large rectangular bag made of gold and red tapestry fabric, with brown faux leather handles and two wood pieces covered in the same faux leather at the top. Magnets imbedded in the wood helped keep the bag closed, but not very well. I did a Pirate Poppins themed cosplay for a pirate event, and made this tapestry bag for it. Same leather and fabric as the other pictures, this is a rounded bag that gathers at the top and is covered by a flap. A strap at the top allows it to be hung from a belt. Classic historic pirate/renn faire look.

In the latest episode of "Things I didn't know they'd changed since I started playing #SecondLife," there is more than one type of right click menu in the Firestorm Viewer. Behold the non-pie menu!

To access it, go to Avatar, Preferences, User Interface, 2D Overlay, untick 'Use Pie Menu.'

Feels great to be really high up in your house where you can see the whole place (loft bed loft bed loft bed loft bed!) 3. Express yourself as clearly as possible when people are touching you and you don't want them to. 4. Optional, but you can also express yourself clearly when your people are not touching you and you want them to. 5. Sometimes it's important to just go "hmm. actually, I don't care" and wander off. 6. You don't have to be the strongest or toughest to defend yourself, it's enough to just be difficult enough to not be worth the trouble. 7. Ghosts will eventually leave if you stare at them for long enough.

Got my Kickstarter order from @fridaytea.com! Plus a holiday special. I'm going to have to upgrade from a tea box to a tea chest.
four boxes of tea and three sample packets from Friday Afternoon Tea sit on a chair. Three of the boxes are their new format, sage green top and rust red bottom, featuring a cute dragon contentedly sipping from a teacup. The flavors are 'Mrs Bennet's Nerve Tonic, Nose in a Book, and Cheshire Smile. The fourth box black with hearts, their Valentine's Day special called Love Potions. Four little corked glass bottles are filled with tea blends with romantic names - Infatuation, True Love, Ooh-la-la, and sweetheart. Three lindt truffles in different flavors are also in the box. The tea samples are Strawberries & Cream, Flagship Tea Blend, and Libra.

Brian Jacques's Redwall inspired me to make some very detailed mice out of polymer clay in the late 90's. They've been in storage, but today I got them back. Martin is missing his tail and his sword, Gonff his dagger and flute. Not sure what they were up to, but time for new accessories.
Two mice made out of clay and wearing fabric clothing, roughly 4 inches tall. The mouse on the left has on a green Robin Hood style pointy cap, a blue medievalesque hood and red cape, a green tunic with a big red belt, and brown pants. he has canteen and an empty sheath strapped to the belt. The other Mouse is Martin. He is wearing a tan shirt and green vest with brown buttons, and brown suede pants. They have big ears painted pink inside, pink noses, and whiskers made from clear fishing line. Gonff's two front teeth are sticking out. They are lying on top of some white tissue paper, finally free from their storage.

The sky is blue with a few light clouds up high, and another cloud that seems to have decided to settle on the water. Fog stretches out in a long line from left to right in the middle of the photo. Giant cargo ship cranes and a ferris wheel peek out from the clouds, while the waterfront buildings are clear.

The dough was REALLY wet. but I cut the recipe in half, so maybe I messed something up? The olive oil is very strong. I'm sure I will enjoy these, but will keep trying different recipes.
a flour, water, olive oil, and salt dough rolled out very thin and placed on parchment paper on a metal tray. It has been cut into rough rectangles, and half of them are sprinkled with italian season, to test various flavors. The other half is garlic salt. The dough is raw and about to go in the oven. A metal tray of freshly made homemade crackers, fresh out of the oven. Someday I will develop my dough rolling skill to make this a much more even shape, it's more or less rectangular.
