Been there, done that, happy to chat about it. I quit my job at the time but in hindsight taking a break might have been enough.

You and I might realise that, but the idiots asking for an apology probably won't.

These things aren't really 'festivals' anymore; they're corporate events that are little better than a Woodside sponsorship on a sports jersey.
January 10, 2026 at 6:21 AM
it's both, while shrouded in the grey of the paradox of tolerance

That sounds terrible too. Ribs are terrible because you can't cough, laugh or sleep on your side. Frustrating

Frantic, fanatical lobbying is exposing the inflence that a fraction of a percentge of our population thinks they have of all of us. Tactically I think it's a big mistake to reveal their hand.

I watched Joe Hockey go on a rant like this at a Canberra airport doorstop interview. Full on spittle all over the journalists in the front row. He got to the end of his last sentence, assumed a perfectly calm demeanour and asked the journalists if they "got all of that". It's gross theatre.

I think she's probably the right candidate for the rest of the world, but Americans won't vote for a woman, and if they do, then the Republican children will get another deplorable elected in response. Related question: has a country ever backed down from fascism peacefully?

I'm sick of intelligence being drowned out by idiocy
December 24, 2025 at 7:02 AM
It's gloating in the fact that stuidity is more popular than being smart, which is comforting to stupid people

The thing that irritates me the most about politicians is that they're so damn cheap
December 21, 2025 at 9:01 AM
You can never appease extremists.

Chip has been right all his life and yet hasn't made a single positive impact on the world.
