Democrats should decide how they will address the 2 national cash giveaways that the Republican President has planned in 2026. One is more take-home cash from lower taxes and the second is the $ 2000 tariff rebate. The money is intended to sway voters but is being borrowed and added to the deficit.

The anticipated mass firing of US ambassadors by the President will further destabilize relationships with American allies. Ambassadors are not "personal representatives of the President". They are representatives of their country. Expect inexperienced donors in 2026 to be appointed.

The US has not declared war against Venezuela. Seizing a vessel carrying oil in international waters is unlawful. The US President is demonstrating that he feels immune not only from prosecution for violation of US laws but international laws also.

The US Congress has not declared war against Venezuela. Further military actions against Venezuela by the American President violate both the US Constitution and international law. US lawmakers know that declaring war would be unpopular and would be an issue during the midterms.

As a physician, I never thought I would utter the words "Don't follow the CDC's advice." This Republican administration has destroyed one of the world's premier health think tanks by ignoring evidence-based medicine. Try using Canada or Britain for reliable information.

In fairness to the American President, his tariff negotiations with India included reductions in imports of Russian oil. This has threatened Putin who is in India trying to reverse this decision. The President has found Russia's Achilles heel- revenue from oil.

CNN has broadcast a speech that the Secretary of Defense made in 2016 at the Liberty Forum where he agreed that soldiers should not follow "unlawful orders" (presumably from then President Barack Obama). Now, the Secretary wants to court marshal a US Senator who said essentially the same thing.
