It is also a bit much to suggest SL staff need to be magnanimous when many still have no clue if they have jobs and for how long. And I don’t juts mean management posts. cabinet offered no clarity on this.

If libraries did come back into local authority management after this point it could be done in a civilised and sensible way taking people with them and not like this.

I certainly have no issues with local government running libraries directly - it’s what I campaigned for in 2011 but this isn’t happening for the right reasons and I think a longer term decision needs to be made once the new Unitary authorities are elected.
