The firehose is public, any jackass with an AI to train already has access to every single image. This is intentional, same reason why your list of people you block is public, built right into the system.

It's the "we have no input" part that's the problem.

The thing with bluesky using AI to moderate images isn't that it's training on them, think for 10 fucking seconds about it, but that they are saying "yeah we outsourced that shit entirely, we got no control over it. It says label, we label" etc

Second update: A Jewish science journalist has now been suspended after publicly criticizing Bluesky’s CEO. A months-old skeet condemning Christian Zionism was presented as justfication, but this is clearly manufactured pretext.

At this point, all pretense is gone. This is outright retaliation by Bluesky’s leadership against any who dare criticize it.

i just think it's kinda hollow to keep reemphasizing that atproto is decentralized as if most people even had a way to use it without being dependent on services operated by bluesky, you know just as well as i do that you control the vast majority of this "network"

It's called The Fediverse and you can even take your fucking posts with you across instances depending on what you use these days.

You can probably also host it on your old fucking smart phone you have sitting somewhere unlike ATProto

It would be wild if someone would build a social site where you could migrate away without losing all your connections if you didn't like the owner. Maybe even host your account on your own box, at home, so you could switch apps seamlessly or build your own. I think that would improve society.

I hope you get recognized soon but also perhaps not a bad reason to start testing the waters for a place which will have better growth opportunities for you?
