Congratulations VCLab's ShazNet team (Ajay, Daniel, Giancarlo, Neel), who came in 2nd at the Defense Tech Hackathon! A total of 162 teams applied to the hackathon and only 10 were accepted. The team is supervised by Prof. Faisal Qureshi in the VC Lab (Neel is co-supervised by @chrisnf.bsky.social ).

New research has revealed for the first time the full extent of how "Artificial Light At Night" (ALAN) is increasing carbon released by plants and animals across continents—without any increase in the carbon they absorb.
