I thought I'd rough out the Mystery of Convoy sprite into a 3D printable miniature as today's warm up task.

Got to sit down with the toy now and think about the rear and side views some more.

Looking at promotional items (pens, stickers, mugs) and ... branded chocolate coin bags. Umph. Christmas 2026 cannot come soon enough.

Remember this classic? The Funfax educational book simply called "SHARK".

Not "Learn about Sharks" or "Let's Conservation the Shark". Just SHARK. Every page is probs gory illustrations of sharks biting people in half.

I remember Repton! But only because Bug Hunter in Space starts with them being crushed by a 1 TON weight.

Hi! I'm Chris, I sculpt Space Dwarf minis like it's still 1994.

Great painting. I like the contrast of silver with the saturated details. Love those bold tufts.

I think the silver on the grey base might mean when you look at an army of them the models look a little most. If you tinted the sand to more a grey-blue the army would look stronger.

And blue eyes?

Me and my Space Dwarfs will be at Vapnartak in a few weeks' time, Space Dwarfin' it up with Space Dwarf minis. First wargames show of the season! Come say hi!

I love Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad, and how a lot of language choices don't quite work.

For example, the way they've verbed samurai into "samurized" makes it lose its awesome factor. Look like "pasteurized".

Love my cat.

Sculpted a pixel-style Bug Hunter as a miniature, just for fun. Bug Hunter in teh first game is an 18x18 pixel sprite, rather than the 24x24 outlined sprite that he is in the sequel, which lends itself better to a blocky-looking mini. Off for test prints!

Kwikfit man: What appears to be the problem with your car, sir?

Me: It doesn't look like this.

It's a little promo trail of pin badges some of the UKGE exhibitors are showing off.

And nice work on your bigger statement – having it unrated in a section that's all "★★★★★" "★★★☆☆" "★★★☆☆".

Over the festive break, just for fun, I reworked the original sprite from 1990's Bug Hunter in Space into a 360° turnaround with 16 frames.

Went walking and found this holly growing out an ancient cairn.

Definite undead in that shrub.

"Holly Wraiths".

2E Ultramarines Codex had 1st and 3rd company power armoured in the colour sections.
December 18, 2025 at 7:11 PM
Shoulder trims in company colours came way before 2nd edition Codex Ultramarines. White Dwarf 129 gives the Ultramarines' companies colours (though executed on the arm rather than the shoulder pad), and shows the Dark Angels examples with company colours on the trim.

Lots of Röknauts going out today! Thanks everyone!

I'll be closing Ontos for Christmas at 5pm Friday 19th December. And last UK postage date, Royal Mail advise is Friday 19th December if you're looking for that 1990s stocking filler!
