Here we go! Series 5! And what an opener we have for you. Episode 56 with special guest, John Kearns (Taskmaster, Top Coppers)!

Alex spoke to John about deadlines, saying 'Yes', and how he and Adam Riches have been pretending to be Ball and Boe for much longer than you might have thought... (1/2)

That's right! No weeks of build up, no teaser trailers, just a little nudge less than 24 hours before a brand new episode slides right into your lap. More of a French entrance than a French exit. Anyway, tune in (or whatever the podcast equivalent is) tomorrow! 🎧🥳

Ah @joannaneary.bsky.social is a fantastic character comic who I met in Brighton many moons ago. It was lovely getting to chat to her on this and it's only listening back to the episode that I realised she still owes me a drawing of Silas Bibble 😉.

Story here of one of my nicest experiences at the Edinburgh Fringe, at the end of an incredibly demoralising month!

Tom and I met at one of my first character gigs when we shared the bill, at that point he was part of sketch group Staple/Face. Since then, I have followed his career from sketch group to double-act with Sam Nicoresti to solo character work as Peter Fleming. He is a funny, funny man!

I met Dipak through Michelle Fahrenheim. He was the first director guest and it came after he essentially wrote a fan letter to me about the Steve Dawson episode of Out Of Character. His comedy observations were so astute and interesting I just had to invite him on the show. Listen now!

I saw Ellie and Natasia's first sketch show as a double act at EdFringe in 2015. I had only met Ellie a couple of times so it was a real treat getting to properly chat to her about her sketch and character experiences. She's lovely and such a laugh!

We've hit episode 20 in the Archive clips. Here is a segment with the brilliant Ellie White about her first Fringe show with her sketch group - made up of Jamie Demtriou, Charlie Perkins, Joe Hampson, Charlotte Ritchie, Mat Ewins & Oscar Jenkin-Jones - and how they 'bombed' every night. (1/2)

I have worked with Will on a handful of different projects and he is always brilliant. Everything he delivers is hilarious, from his solid gold expressions as a performer to his incredible wit as a writer. I loved his work with Clever Peter and I loved his one-man shows just as much! Do listen!
