Can I use my fics as a portfolio of sorts until I'm able to release my original stories? This feels like such a gray area and I'm not trying to create any legal headaches or issues for fandom communities.

Would it be better to change the names of characters in fanfic I have written and post those to showcase my work? A lot of it is Alternate Universe so most of my stories are not reflective of canon. I'm not currently making any money off of my original works (though I want to in the future).

I have tons of fanfic works posted (that I continue to write) but I'm only just now in the process of pursuing writing original stories. So I don't have anything that is fully "mine" to showcase my work but I can't gain readers without... showcasing my work.

That being said, I finally got a copy of Rosemary's Baby as a Christmas gift and I'm so excited to read it!
