Design refrence sheet for my Flapjack Octopus character. The colours in the hair are not shadows, they're the gradients in the hair. The yellow in the art is just a highlight. The pattern on the sweater represents a Flapjack Octopi wrinkled & spotted skin, while Vitiligo is chosen to represent its patterned look. The tail-looking thing at the back of the sweater is meant to look like an octopi funnel. The hair shape is based on the overall look of a Flapjack Octopus. Under the sweater is a tank-top and bloomers. The bottom right corner displays the colour palette for the character. between the sleeves and the torso is fabric that mimics the Opisthoteuthids (Umbrella Octopi) web of skin between their arms. Concept design planning for the character. A picture of an Opisthoteuthis Californiana, the creature in which my character is based off of.
