When synthesizers came on to the market, manufacturers actively worked to court musicians into using them. If they'd sold it like a lot of these guys sell LLMs they would have hit the "demo" button on a synthesizer & said "Now you don't need those stuck up musicians (who we all hate) to make music!"

These tools are dangerous because of what they take from us - our independent thought, our own voices, our ethics, even our aspirations and some part of our humanity. They concentrate cognition in the same way that work-or-die capitalism concentrates wealth, with the same costs in inequality.
