As a father, I’ve seen how harmful stigma can be, children are not “injured” or “broken,” they are who they are. We need more compassion, less sensationalism. And as an Engineer, I urge everyone to insist on evidence: let’s follow the science, not politicize it.

As a dad of 2 children with autism, I feel compelled to push back on the announcement that attempts to link Tylenol use in pregnancy as primary causes of autism. The problem is: it’s full of misinformation, plays into stigma, & does a disservice to families doing the work of understanding autism.

Gupta: It is safe. That’s what the best-quality research shows. And how irresponsible, using the podium of the WH to put this out there when you’re not even offering an alternative. That is dangerous. An untreated fever is dangerous. Untreated pain in pregnancy is dangerous.
