Watching it for the first time in a looooong time and it rules

Do you think it would have been possible to make Halloween have as much realism as it does on purpose or was it the product of its young team and shoestring budget

Huh, I’ve also been playing the Witcher 3 again lately. What gave you the feeling to start a new run?

Honestly raising the prices on an already-unpopular suite of consoles while under a BDS boycott takes this from "easiest boycott ever" to "actually I didn't consent to be part of your humiliation kink"

You've never seen a boycott that was easier than this one, fellas

Headline gag hidden in the prop newspapers of, like, the x files or something: “burrito panic sweeping the heartland”

At the risk of explaining the gag, you can sing the first sentence of this post to the tune of the ending of the chorus of Weird Al's "UHF."

I love that the sound that plays when you complete a level in Puyo Puyo Tetris with full stars is the same as the sound for an extra life in M.U.S.H.A. Compile's legacy. The shoot-'em-up was game 49 for 2025.

done's review of M.U.S.H.A. | Backloggd
One of the best, if not the best, console shoot-'em-up of its time. Compile really had a great run at the turn of the 90s. Musha is busy, fast, and loud in every sense it can hit, from a furious sound...

Call it “car culture” for a reason. Think of all the other ways culture is bound up in its presentation in games. There’s always something there to think about.

Good demonstration of how to read into a game like GT. Where there are cars and locations, attention to presentation, and quotes from directors, it’s seems easy to surface culture. Yet GT is also the kind of game that I feel is routinely thought of as resistant to critique.

Boen Wang writes about Gran Turismo 7, how the game serves as a museum of car culture, and the ways the game omits the automobile's ties to militarism, fascism and global warning

I remember some of your handheld and controller reviews. They were really detailed! I think yours was the first analogue pocket review I read, come to think of it.

I haven’t played much of their stuff outside of Hyper Light, but this sounds cool.

I should go back and wrap that one up, I think I just had the South and then the final to go.
