I’m a planner, so I also send out reminders to registrants pre-event noting if there’s a waitlist so folks can let their conscience guide them if they’re on the fence.

Not defending this but planners sometimes note that recordings will be made available to registrants but don’t clarify if there’s an option for those unable to attend but interested in the topic. Allowing folks the option to sign up for post event recordings or notes can help.

Chicago Art Book Fair hosted a great talk last weekend called “Zines as Social Practice.” Wish someone had taped it as I feel you would have really enjoyed it.

I love WOI. I do think they have lost some of their originality and boldness since they were bought by Condé Nast but the archives are gold.
