Bovendien wordt voorbij gegaan aan de zeer verschillende noden van de "buurtfietser" en de "lange afstand woon-werk fietser". Twee gebruikers die, afhankelijk van je doelstellingen, niet altijd op dezelfde infrastructuur thuis horen.

Pijnlijk éénzijdig artikel, alvast in de Saffierstraat is er geen wil bij de actiegroep om het te hebben over het knippen van autoverbindingen en reduceren naar enkel richting. Het is altijd enkel de fout van de fietsostrade, niet van alle autoeigenaars die voor eigen deur willen parkeren.

Ah, a world wide crisis limited to the english speaking countries :-). Maybe it's not zoning, but just language? Seriously though, how serious can you take this statement? Not every major US city is on the list: so I could claim that local zoning plays a major role as it is not a nationwide problem.

There will always be extremes who do not want to explore common grounds. But elections aren't decided by these groups, they are decided by pretty moderate people who are unsure about how valuable their vote is and what they should vote for. (+ a political bias due to their family or collegues)

I get the frustration, but the US will not get better by making creating more division between Dems and Reps. It may be challenging, but finding out why people have opposing opinions is the key to get to a more balanced and fair system. Nevertheless, it is good comedy ;-).

In Dutch we say: a good bicycle management plan is a car management plan. Maybe convince them to charge for parking (and get free parking if you stay for lunch or dinner) or remove part of the asphalt in favour of green.

I didn't know food in the US still contained fruit and vegetables. It all tastes like oil-derivatives with salt or sugar.

Two things to consider: (1) current LNG capacity demand is partly due to sanctions against Russia, it doesn't necessarly mean higher consumption. (2) not all investments are smart, many are a gamble based on a unpredictable future. The future we create will determine the value of the investments...

Akkoord dat verdere elektrificatie ook het totale verbruik zou doen stijgen, maar het verhoogt ook de flexibiliteit aan vraagzijde, waardoor negatieve prijzen minder zullen voorkomen.

Bijkomende "oorzaak" is de vertraagde elektrificatie in transport en industrie door wispelturig en ondoordacht beleid, waardoor productie sneller groeit dan consumptie verschuift.

I once had a cop ask me to dismount when passing an accident scene. I said I understood that I should pass carefully, but also asked whether he believed that dismounting and walking next to a loaded longtail with groceries and two kids would improve safety in any way? He looked confused 😂.
