Like, people know the hallway meme and all, but it's not just the hallways themselves, it's really that there is just nothing else *except* the hallway.

There's also side content to do in them on a fairly regular basis in 10, something that 13 basically completely lacks until it gives you hunts near the very end. Honestly I've warmed on 13 over the years but I think people drastically undersell how linear it is in comparison to other FFs.

but yeah you're right that obviously if they did make Eureka again For Real and you were required to actually spend like 30 minutes killing mobs to spawn a fate, people probably would've just rioted about that too. (but also I would be happier so that's all that matters here)

The immediately open nature of it isn't quite the problem in this case imo, the sole reason Eureka had and still has a social community is because there is downtime between major fights, like a lot, and in OC there just isn't really. There's no reason to talk or coordinate for anything.

A huge amount of this also is a consequence of it being streamed as his job imo, if it's 2 streams a week, that's like half a weekly schedule, but maybe 6 hours of good progress, so the games goes on for several months and feels way longer than it really is.
