(a) demonstrate he can attack at will
(b) divert NATO resources away from supporting Ukraine to defend the bloc
(c) focus our attention / resources on drones, whilst potentially gearing-up for a different type of sub-threshold attack (e.g. power interconnectors, data links)

I don't "like" this. I acknowledge the wanton, barbaric, heartless destruction of whatever lies in the path of Putin's expansionist ambitions. He will not stop - unless he is stopped...
