I realized while writing this the limitation of this analogy is assuming he can have the original or remake and it's likely no one wants to be within smell radius of him but hear me out I think it holds up in general

I know this is a weird take on this guy's opinion but he kind of makes me think about people who get pissed about live action remakes and think it ruins the original.
The original is still there. You can still have it at any time. But also you can have the new thing.
