Scottish, Irish, Australian human being. I'm an immigrant working in Australian healthcare.⚕️

Born in Glaschu (Glasgow), Ancestry DNA says I'm only 5% Scottish. 23andMe says I'm 2% Neanderthal which does at least explain why I went to Shanidar...

Not a pollster but then I don't need to be.

The facts are evident.

Reform are terrible but it's Labour who are handing them votes. Lurching to the right will not win Labour No 10 in 2029. I'm not a Labour voter but they need to start leading and taking radical action or we're all fecked in 2029.

How much you betting that Starmer lost Runcorn purely on trans people in the consituency voting Green or the Lib Dems instead. It was lost by 6 votes after all and there's bound to be more trans people than that in Runcorn. Never mind the other queer people who now see Labour for what they are.

Reform need to be prevented from getting into No 10 in 2029, Labour jumping on the culture war bandwagon isn't the way to do that.

Runcorn was lost for many reasons but especially as many or most LGBT+ people who had voted Labour before switched to the Greens or the Liberal Democrats.

If Labour hadn't jumped on the culture war bandwagon they wouldn't have lost so many LGBT+ votes and would have retained Runcorn. It's likely trans votes were the deciding factor.

And yes all the cuts and pandering of course were never going to go down well. Starmer is facilitating a Farage govt.

I think it's a huge and devastating bump but I do agree that ultimately the future will be kinder. It's just hard to see that future as being anything but a long way off.

I feel that Donegal is to Ireland what Scotland is to England, to the north and largely forgotten in the minds of southern politicians.

Certainly when I was growing up I had family in Inishowen who'd never even been to Dublin, they just felt cut off from the rest of the country.

It makes me angry those soldiers are having to suffer, if only the West had stood up to Putin in 2014. And then drip feeding support to Ukraine since 2022. It makes me ashamed to be a citizen of an EU and a NATO country.

Everyone in the West should see these photos.

That's lovely... ❤️

If there is an afterlife that women will be looking down and blessing every one of those people.

I listen to Soviet music, nothing can beat The Cliff but that sounded awful.

Thankfully they don't start playing Kino songs, although it would be somewhat fitting what with Viktor's background.

I forgot that when I wrote that post, I didn't get enough sleep last night.

I used to work in palliative care, I wish Holyrood would get it passed as 2021 is a while ago.

And yes it'd be great if parties not in Scotland didn't vote on stuff that affects us or stops our laws from passing.

Ah yes, that explains the SNP not voting. Thanks for the mind jog... ;)

I don't think it's right to pardon people in general and it's a bad look for a President to pardon his son but in the circumstances I understand it. Trump would have made Hunter's life a nightmare once he's back in the White House.

Interesting. I've often wondered how effective ECT was. I don't work in mental health but I have looked after many ECT patients when they're waking up post procedure.

I just had a flashback to Zardoz, letting Zed into that library turned a bit deadly after he'd taught himself to read.

I've only ever seen clips but they do make a lovely couple, she's gorgeous and he's really quite attractive (for a man).

And the trick shot was pretty impressive, especially on a first take.

There is an interesting interview on YouTube where he talks about his alcoholism.

Yes, they must. If I were in charge of the EU or NATO things would be going very differently.

Curtseying is nice, for fun between friends.

I did have an interaction with Prince Philip when I was in the Army, I had to stop something he was doing (long story) and I saluted but then that was expected, it'd look a bit weird a soldier curtseying in combat uniform and carrying a rifle.

I didn't know there were elephants in Laois... 🤔

Quite possibly as some people are weird. I don't see the benefit in standing, getting 7 votes and then thinking you're cool or it's a selling point.

Especially when asked what you were standing on and it's because you want to deport bisexual people or think Taytos should use American cheese.

It's certainly a bit odd putting yourself forward for election but not bothering to say why anyone should vote for you.

I don't know, perhaps it's a bucket list thing or maybe they're so obsessed with the single issue they're standing for they don't think to explain why they're standing.

It should be a rule to be on the ballot you need a website with a bio and a comprehensive list of policy positions.

Not necessarily a personal website but a recognised election related website that's easy to find.
