I’ve only been rockhounding for a year so I don’t know a lot of agate variety names, but I’m not about to let that stop me from showing off my finds 😂 The important thing is that they’re pretty and I love them and I have a lot so expect the agate cinematic universe to expand.

Last year I visited the limestone quarry at Geomuseum Faxe in Denmark. Couldn’t resist the chance to take home my own samples of the oldest cold-water coral remains in the world, and beautiful flint that’s been used by humans to make tools for millennia.

I’ve gotten real partial to hounding in the rain. The mud is soft, new treasures are rolling in the runoff creeks, and every rock on the beach is shining in its true colors. Plus if you’re a shy rock goblin like me, you’re usually by yourself in this weather. 😂🌧️

found this in some low tide mud in Whatcom County WA like a year ago and still can’t settle on her name! obvs I want it to be jade which is not impossible but I just have no idea. green shade is close to aventurine too. really goddamn beautiful

Some of the best highlights of my Frenchman Coulee finds in east WA! Agate, druzy, chert, chalcedony…red guys are still a mystery. I love the little demon head agate 😂 they’re so different from my usual finds in western WA. I’m lucky I found so many beauties in less than an hour of hunting.

Some of the best highlights of my Frenchman Coulee finds in east WA! Agate, druzy, chert, chalcedony…red guys are still a mystery. I love the little demon head agate 😂 they’re so different from my usual finds in western WA. I’m lucky I found so many beauties in less than an hour of hunting.

I found this beauty in a dusty debris pile at Frenchman Coulee. been looking at my books for days while I cleaned her up and can’t figure her out. color says agate but I haven’t seen agate cleave like that, or shine that bright while dry; I was told no obsidian is in the area. love her regardless!
