Lots of things get called "American tokusatsu" with varying degrees of accuracy, but I feel like Full Moon stuff doesn't get called that as often as it probably should.

Interestingly, the zombie in the illustration that accompanies Wallace's article is almost identical to the zombie in The Ghost Breakers (1940), which came out two years before the article was published, and therefore also to the Zombie from the Scooby-Doo episode "Which Witch is Which" from 1969.
