I think I had mentally internalised all those roles, but having them laid out clearly really helps think about the overall model.

I mean, when it's not intentional harassment and just different norms it seems to help.

Like I really want a "this person isn't a mutual" reminder sometimes because with people I see a lot I sometimes forget and tone can be quite different sometimes.

I think this is why so much of AoNZ hates ending up on discover.

Like even when it's not meant as attacks, the different social norms of some groups here make some of the interactions feel so creepy even when they're meant in good faith.

Part of it is a distance function; like I said in another subthread, different people have different ideas of social media manners, and the further a post gets past your usual "neighborhood" where everyone has roughly the same idea of etiquette, the more clashes you get
