The sensory technology is old and the drones are not exactly recent technology either. I think what is ‘new’ in this context is the idea of using them in a grid based swarm-scanning system. Drones have previously been deployed as lone units, but more increasingly now we see drone ‘swarms’

If this is the case, we can be fairly sure that they have already tested these drones in the desert long ago. Some testing you can only do in actual operation zones. I think the DoD could be testing the general population’s reaction just as much as the actual drones.

To conclude, its too early to say anything for sure. I think this thing is overblown, and that the most probable explanation is that either the U.S military is testing its defensive capabilities or that people are reporting civilian airplanes as ‘drones’ because they are inexperienced with aircraft.

There are theories floating around that the drones people are seeing now in New Jersey are the DoD testing their ability to sweep a city for nuclear weapons and also test the publics reaction to such an event. Such PSYOPs are not entirely unheard of, and wold also explain the silence from government

These drones were originally intended for combat zones and are called HPGs drones. Their initial purpose was detecting nuclear sites, but the DoD is rumored to have bought thousands of these drones and repurposed them for use within U.S borders.
