There's a lot of discussion about chain link fences as exterior materials. A new amendment would ban untreated chain link fencing in commercial zones "unless screened from public view."

Rolling through a few public comments that have been submitted to the city: one is very upset about the idea of public funding for housing, as well as references to "anti-racism" and "past harms."
"Equality is the law of the land. Equity is a racist structure that implies reparations."
Oh, bud.

At the end of the staff presentation on development code amendments, staff asked the council:

Two, Maris Appleson, is concerned about traffic around the middle schools. She's among a group of residents worried about drivers barreling through dark crosswalks as kids walk to school. Requests from community and the school district to have flashing stop signs and school zone signs have stalled.

Now, public comment! Only two speakers today.
One, Todd Greenwood, is concerned about increased density on his street with regard to the comprehensive plan amendments being discussed tonight.

First things first, a SUPER BUSY weekend in Shoreline coming up! The city is joining in a community food drive ahead of Thanksgiving (and amid...*waves hands* everything); tomorrow, Nov. 11, the city will have a Veteran's Day program at 3 p.m.; and on Nov. 13, there will be a pool design open house.
