Art Nouveau is when stuff looks like it was made by Elves.

Art Deco is when stuff looks like it was made by Dwarves.
An Art Nouveau staircase decorated with curved patterns and soft colors, with a nature-themed background and rounded windows on the walls. Art Deco staircase. An angular, grand design in dark colors.

The best thing we guys, as guys, can do for guys, is find all the guys who use weaponized incompetence like pretending to not know how to vacuum or do the dishes or cook, in order to offload that on their SO. Just to talk. We should just talk to them. So come out. We just wanna talk. That's all.

She called US soldiers "boneheads" and they loved her for it. She worked for Imperial Japan during WW2 but was more American than baseball-shaped apple pie. She's the ONLY American who overturned a treason conviction. This is the story of Iva Toguri d’Aquino:

Tokyo Rose: Imperial Japan’s All-American Radio Propagandist
A look into "Tokyo Rose," the Imperial Japan propaganda meant to lower the Allies’ morale during the war. Instead, it had the opposite effect.

trump: transgenders and windmills all over the place

Do you think Trump thinks there is war in Portland because he confused it with Poland and its problems with Russia invading our airspace (and also planning terrorist bombing attacks)?

Quick reminder that the phrase "No Can Do" started out as a direct translation of the Chinese "不可以" used by immigrants still learning English, and became a permanent part of the language because Americans kept repeating it in *mockery* and it just kind of caught on. Same thing with Long Time No See.

Yeah, it's a mistake, but not the one you're thinking of. Going to try and fix it.

Only to his friends! I'd never presume!

OK fair, but maybe in this one case we can forgive it?

Oh for sure, John. Why don't you lie down on this couch and tell me all about it.

Really helped that a lot of the Imperial Japan high command had no working knowledge of American slang and the western idea of irony/sarcasm as humor. What Toguri did flew right over their heads. But it was dangerous. She was mocking her captors right to their faces. An incredibly brave woman.

Come on.
