Further, from what I could gather, where there are more French-Canadians and Francophones, there is also significantly greater support for unions. What gives? Is it perhaps because there's no Canada like ze French Canada?

Out of curiosity – and my love for Canadian culture – I skimmed over some stats, and it seems that whereas 28.7% of employees are union members in Canada, for the Netherlands it hovers around 20%. More interesting still, it seems, union membership in Canada has been steadily dropping since 1980’s.
