Our third game against Wasps, almost certainly the team we have played most.

With another great match report from Sporting Life:
“The Insects arrived at Walthamstow on Saturday without their stings, and consequently were utterly routed by the representatives of ancient oriental glory. The reverses which an unkind fate recently bestowed upon the dauntless followers of the Star and Crescent have evidently nerved them to increased wariness and determination, for their "bright particular" is once more in the ascendent. A lesson was sorely needed. Success too long continued frequently leads to a relaxation of discipline and to disaster. 'Twas so here. The Saladin of today, (whose nom-de-guerre is JA Jenkins) was almost overcome with bitterness of the defeat which his faithful few sustained at the hands of those infidel dogs of hospitallers (London and St Barts to wit). Indeed, it was a sensation to which he was not accustomed. Lost laurels may be recovered, however, and it will not be for the want of wholehearted effort if, in this case, they are not. Recurring to the match on Saturday, we may briefy say that the Wasps, beautiful as they were, buzzed to no good purpose. Old Buxtonians 2-0 Saracens

Sounds like a contentious match!
OLD BUXTONIANS v. SARACENS. These Rugby clubs met at West Ham Park on Saturday, and after a well contested game, the Old Buxtonians won by two goals (one kicked under protest from disputed try) and one touch-down to four touches-down. The home team kicked off, but were soon compelled to touch down, and subsequently had to do so again thrice, owing to the fine dropping of J. A. Jenkins. The only important event prior to half-time was a fine run up the side of the field by Green, who, when tackled, passed to B. Smith, who kicked hall over the Saracens’ lines, and touched it down. This was disputed by the Saracens. they maintaining that Green ran into touch, and the goal was kicked by B. Smith under protest. After half-time, Buncombe ran into the Saracens' goal. but was tackled by two of his opponents, and lost the maul, the visitors having to touch down. About five minutes before no-side, Price Jenkins obtained the ball, and a fine run from half-way, scored a try right behind the Saracens’ posts,and B. Smith placed an easy goal. OLD BUXTONIANS W.T.
