I still think I'm kind of right and that's the origin of Snowgrave, for Noelle it doesn't make sense for her to suddenly learn a new spell just because she killed people, but for us as players, since she's leveling up, it's pretty obvious she must unlock new powerful magic at some point

I remember thinking the weird route was about ludonarrative dissonance, when gameplay/story don’t line up. Like when the “pacifist” healer still wipes out enemies but still acts all innocent in cutscenes, or when they randomly level up and get new powers without any origin or explanation.
