There Irish Catholics among the Famine refugees, and also Irish Protestants.
In Toronto, approximately 20% of the 1,124 Irish dead, in 1847, were Protestant. At Quebec, of the seven hundred Famine Orphans accommodated and placed in Canadian families, at least 100 were Protestant.
