During its deployment, 2-503 lost 26 KIA—more than any other US battalion in Afg except 3/5 Marines in Sangin—and 143 wounded.
Its men were awarded 3 Medals of Honor, 28 Silver Stars, and nearly 100 Bronze Stars with V for valor, making 2-503 the most heavily decorated battalion of the GWOT.
