Moving on in their Epiphany Pilgrimage, Year 5 celebrated the Magi as seekers of truth. They created crowns for the kings, decorating them and and adorning them with a virtue or value which is important to them #CatholicLife #EpiphanyPilgrimage @olaasmac.bsky.social

Thinking about how Jesus was revealed as the light of the world, Year 5 created paper lanterns, writing upon them how they can share their light with others #CatholicLife #EpiphanyPilgrimage @olaasmac.bsky.social

Thinking about our duty as disciples of Jesus to care for all creation as a gift to future generations, Year 5 continued their Epiphany Pilgrimage by planting seeds in pots, to be taken home and nurtured. We discussed these seeds representing new beginnings and hope #Epiphany @olaasmac.bsky.social

Next, Year 5 continued reflecting upon the gifts of the Magi, considering the personal gifts of renewal and hope they can offer to Jesus. They created drawings and written prayers representing these offerings, to be placed within the ‘gift boxes‘ they had created #Epiphany @olaasmac.bsky.social

Year 5’s ‘Epiphany Pilgrimage’ began with a reading of the Gospel story of the Magi and a reflection upon the symbolism of their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Our pupils created symbolic ‘gift boxes‘, within which they could place gifts of renewal and hope #Epiphany @olaasmac.bsky.social

Our Year 5 Scientists have been exploring the properties of materials. Is a 2p coin magnetic? Does the paper clip conduct electricity? Is wool transparent? Year 5 discovered the answers to these questions and many more! #CatholicLife #ScienceInAction @olaasmac.bsky.social

As an end to our English unit this term, the children in Y4 wrote letters to residents in care homes to spread the love and joy at Christmas. The letters have been dropped off to a local care home in time for Christmas. We hope they love them! #OptionforthePoorandVulnerable #CatholicSocialTeaching

Y6 had the best time at Manor Adventure. They did things they never dreamed they would, tried things they've never done before and overall were a wonderful bunch of kids to be around. Me, Mr O'Connor, Mrs Duffy and Ms Locke had a wonderful time with them all! #CatholicLife

Y6 crash landed on a desert island in the pitch black! We couldn't even see our hands in front of our faces without our torches but that didn't stop us making SOS signals, water filters and making fires. Then we had to walk back in the dark...even Mrs Roberts was scared! #CatholicLife

This is not the vertical challenge, this is the Y6 challenge! After our morning activity being cancelled due to severe weather the night before, we took on this beast! This took so much skill and bravery but they smashed it #CatholicLife
