I think a big part of it is the method of delivery - the harm was linked to inhaling combusted tobacco, or starting accidental fires, not the nicotine.
*Smoking* is dangerous, but a pouch of mint-flavored stimulant you pop in your mouth?

If I harden the membrane with a collision system I might be able to stop particles from passing through it. I'll need to set up some collision layers and another map, and mark the coordinates where a membrane particle is located impassible to other particles.

It's not right though. The white bonded particles were acting erratically (thnek) and not blocking cells well even when in a equilibrium, so I locked the membrane in place and added a force moving them towards the center of the cell's mass.
