Cardi B's Drag Race judge stint is even more iconic amid 'MAGA Minaj'
### Brand-new footage of Cardi B appearing as a guest judge on the grand premiere of _RuPaul's Drag Race_ season 18 just dropped. Considering her years-long Nicki Minaj feud, the very recent rise of "MAGA Minaj," and fan-favorite queen Heidi N Closet resurfacing the intensely negative critique she received from Minaj as a guest judge on _Drag Race_ season 12, Cardi B's stint as a season 18 premiere judge is even more iconic and hilarious than it would've already been. It only took a 15-second sneak preview of Cardi B as an extra special guest judge in the season 18 premiere for an already intense discourse surrounding Minaj to escalate into an even wilder social media fight between _Drag Race_ fans, the Barbz, and the Bardi Gang. Before you assume this is just another timeline of the Nicki Minaj vs. Cardi B feud that reheats the same crunchy nachos that hundreds of entertainment news outlets, pop culture-specific social media pages, and gossip blogs have covered at length, let us assure you that it is not. Stick around to see what we mean. ### Cardi B has a kiki with Drag Race season 18 queens in a new video. > See on Instagram _The latest_ _Drag Race_ season 18 preview clip shows Cardi B walking into the werk room and greeting the fierce cast of queens competing on the show. "Hey ladies," she says, while meeting the queens for the first time. The video then cuts to Cardi B already in the judging panel alongside RuPaul and Michelle Visage, Cardi B clearly making a gooped face in reaction to one of the contestants, and remarking that she's "gagging" for whoever that is. > **RELATED:Open the drag vaults! Meet the queens of _RuPaul's Drag Race_ season 18** It's a pretty exciting video of Cardi B having a kiki on _Drag Race_ , but no one could've anticipated the drama that it would create given Minaj's hard-right pivot to MAGA audiences, which has escalated to new heights. This past Sunday, the rapper sat with Charlie Kirk's widow, Erica Kirk, for an event from Turning Point USA in Phoenix, Arizona — a moment so wild in pop culture history that even conservative attendees ended up looking shocked. ### Nicki Minaj praises 'assassin' JD Vance. The most viral and headline-making moment of Minaj's interview with Erika Kirk came as she congratulated certain young people for turning to conservative values and referred to Vice President JD Vance while as an "assassin," as reported by _NBC News_. Generally, the statement has come off as shocking, confusing, bizarre, and even insensitive. "Dear young men, you have amazing role models like our handsome, dashing president," Minaj said. "And you have amazing role models like the assassin JD Vance, our vice president." > **RELATED:****From Messing to Minaj: 11 divas who disappointed LGBTQ+ fans** Erika Kirk looked stunned in reaction to Minaj's remarks. To be clear: The rapper wasn't just making a pretty wild claim about Vance in the middle of what sounded like a compliment, but she also brought up the word "assassin" in a public interview with a woman whose late husband, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated as recently as September 2025 during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University, per _CBS News_. For queer people, however, there was another soundbite from Minaj that sounded even more specific and pointed. ### Nicki Minaj: 'Boys, be boys. There's nothing wrong with being a boy.' While there are layers of context and confusion regarding Minaj's statements at the event, one other quote from the rapper stood out. "Boys, be boys. There's nothing wrong with being a boy," Minaj declared. "How about that? How powerful is that? How profound is that? Boys will be boys, and there's nothing wrong with that." X user @spin4saint shared a video of Minaj delivering the aforementioned statement that has amassed 12.5 million views as of this writing. The X user wrote in the post: "Nicki just on this stage being blatantly transphobic omg…" Another clip of the same statement, shared by @RedMedia_us on X, has reached 16.6 million views. "Nicki Minaj being openly Transphobic on National TV," the X page wrote in the caption. One day later, the _Drag Race_ universe entered the chat as season 12 star Heidi N Closet reflected on the intensely negative critiques she received from the rapper during the very first episode of that season. ### Heidi N Closet references 'MAGA Minaj,' tags the rapper in an X post. > — (@) Heidi N Closet shared an X post viewed by more than 4 million people so far. "MAGA Minaj [eyes emoji; 3x] it was more then[sic] just my hair and makeup you hated," the Miss Congeniality winner wrote while tagging Minaj's X page.__ * If you need a reminder of Minaj's guest judge stint on _Drag Race_ , read the next section. * If you don't need a reminder, skip to the following section. ### RECAP: What did Nicki Minaj say while critiquing Heidi N Closet on Drag Race? Minaj appeared as an extra special guest judge on the premiere of _Drag Race_ season 12, which aired in 2020 (but was filmed in 2019). One critique from Minaj to Heidi N Closet stood out for being particularly negative. "I hate, hate, _haaaaate_ your hair and makeup today," Minaj told Heidi during the episode. "The wig and the makeup could have enhanced your face even more to match this beautiful gown that you have on." It is not customary for guest judges on _Drag Race_ to share such intensely negative remarks about a contestant who is having the opportunity of a lifetime to compete on the Emmy-winning series. That is even truer in the first episode of a new season given that queens are clearly nervous about walking and standing on the _Drag Race_ runway for the first time and are clearly freaking out about being the first-eliminated queen of the season. ### Nicki Minaj responds to Heidi N Closet's X post. > — (@) Minaj quote-shared Heidi N Closet's X post to answer it for herself. "*than," the rapper wrote, correcting a grammatical error in Heidi's original post. As noted by _Variety_ , the "boys, be boys" statement came across as being "beyond her beliefs about trans youths," but also about the rapper feeling like "boys are discouraged from being masculine." Considering that the _Drag Race_ ethos has been fundamentally about being in touch with one's femininity (regardless of each person's gender identity), and the show's long-standing history of featuring trans contestants, crowning trans winners, and likely featuring more trans individuals than any other mainstream reality show, both interpretations of Minaj's "boys, be boys" remarks are hurtful to the LGBTQ+ community, and directly opposes what _Drag Race_ , as a platform for LGBTQ+ talent, has been about for 18 seasons. ### Heidi N Closet shares new posts following Nicki Minaj's grammatical correction. > — (@) Heidi received a flood of posts from the "Barbz" (Minaj's fans) attacking her on X — pretty much immediately. In response, the beloved _Drag Race_ star used her signature humor. "The mug and hair was a chop that day I can admit that!!" Heidi wrote on X. "However something I can say is I never have nor will stand with pedos [heart emoji.]" Here, Heidi referenced accusations against Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, and her brother, Jelani Maraj. "Nicki Minaj's brother has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for raping an 11-year-old girl," _BBC News_ reported on January 2020. "Jelani Maraj was first convicted of predatory sexual assault and child endangerment in November 2017." On July 2022, another report from _BBC News_ read, "Nicki Minaj's husband has been sentenced to a year of home detention for failing to register as a sex offender. Kenneth Petty was required to inform authorities when he moved due to an attempted rape conviction from 1995…but the 44-year-old admitted failing to do this when he relocated to California with Nicki Minaj in 2019." ### > — (@) Heidi also responded to some of the Minaj fans attacking her. X user @owen_zolanski wrote, "I don't tuck my dick between my leg to support a delusion. I dress and act like a MAN. Yo father did a nasty job. You oogly son a disgrace." Heidi promptly clapped back: "If being blessed so much I've gotten to travel the world 'paid to do so' entertaining the people, the ability to pay all my bills and not want for nothing… I'll be a disgrace what can you say your dad's proud of?" ### Cardi B has an interesting history with drag queens, too. You might assume that there can't possibly be even more to this story, but we're here to tell you that there absolutely is one last chapter in this saga worth exploring: Cardi B's own dynamics with drag. Thankfully, Cardi B's history with queer artists, trans women, and drag performers has generally ended in a happier ending, which we can all use right about now. ### Cardi B goes viral with 'okurrr.' Cardi B first went viral saying "okurrr" during an interview on _The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon_ from December 2017. When asked about her then-recent engagement to rapper Offset (one of three members in Migos), Cardi B looked at Fallon with a proud face and spontaneously let out an "okurrr." That soundbite was funny enough that Fallon repeated it, encouraging Cardi B to double down on it even more. At the time, Mikelle Street wrote about the origins of "okurrr" in a story for _Out_ __after the _Los Angeles Times_ reported that Cardi B was seemingly moving to trademark "okurrr" for merch like paper goods, clothing, and cosmetics. The story investigated whether or not the soundbite came from ballroom culture, or perhaps from actor Rodney Chester starring on _Noah's Arc_. The story also explored how Laganja Estranja had popularized the term within reality TV at large while competing on _RuPaul's Drag Race_ season 6 (and being made fun of for saying "okurrr"). Moreover, Khloé Kardashian had also brought the soundbite into universe of _Keeping Up With the Kardashians_ on E!. Cardi B stance even back then, however, was to give credit where credit was due. ### > — (@) Laganja Estranja wrote a since-deleted X post (then called a tweet) to Cardi B that read: "Can I please do my iconic drop in the commercial for your new #Okurrr merch?!? I was once made fun of for using this word, and now you can help me come full circle." Cardi B promptly replied to the _Drag Race_ star, writing: "Shiiiiiettt you will be the first I call but you gotta teach me how to do the drop first with out me breakin my hip." As Cardi B was targeted by negative comments for her use of "okurrr," Laganja took to social media to defend the rapper. "Can we stop the negative comments?!? The word #okurrr originated from the ballroom scene, but Cardi was smart enough to capitalize on it! Props to ya MAWMA!!" ### Cardi B names her sophomore album 'Am I The Drama?' The most recent connection between Cardi B and drag artists came in the form of naming her sophomore album _Am I the Drama?_ — a sentence/question originated by drag queen Scarlet Envy in her "Meet the Queens" interview segment ahead of _Drag Race_ season 11. Once again, it was unclear whether or not Cardi B knew that this was originated by a drag queen, and the internet's knee-jerk reaction was to assume that she was going to steal the catchphrase for herself without giving Scarlet Envy any credit. Thankfully, that is not what happened. ### > See on Instagram It didn't even take a full week for Cardi B to link up with Scarlet Envy and create a moment alongside the queen, making sure that the existential question Scarlet once asked herself ("am I the drama?"), and that went viral in the _Drag Race_ fandom, was clear enough for hip hop fans as well — even if they would now know it as the title of Cardi B's sophomore album. While performing at LadyLand Festival, Scarlet Envy brought out Cardi B and showed the audience that they were united — not beefing — over the new album being titled _Am I the Drama?_. The rapper even performed a song ("Outside") from the upcoming album during Scarlet's set, and the two of them teased that they had plans to collaborate on other projects. ### Cardi B joins Mama Ru's queendom — officially — in 2026. Cardi B will now sashay her way into Mama Ru's queendom — officially — as the first guest judge of a new season ringing in the new year. Mama, kudos! **_RuPaul's Drag Race_****season 18 premieres Friday, January 2, on MTV.**

Erika Jayne says Amanda Frances upsets everyone on 'RHOBH' season 15
There's a shakeup coming in the 90210! _The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills_ has hit a milestone 15th season on Bravo and the drama is still being served from a champagne flute. Heading into the new season, two fresh faces are joining the popular cast. Bravo alum Rachel Zoe and self-made multi-millionaire Amanda Frances are bringing a new energy into the group. "People like to see new energy! They like to see different reactions. We're a tight-knit group of people, so of course, new blood is going to shake things up," Jayne tells PRIDE. > See on Instagram As new episodes begin to roll out, Jayne isn't the only cast member who seems to get into a disagreement with Frances. In fact, it looks like Frances has a hard time gelling with any of the ladies. "That can be a problem. If you piss everyone off, then what? Everybody reacts differently and sometimes you need a break, but what you do need to have is a point of view and you need to be able to express that." It's no easy task filming a reality show alongside many TV veterans, so Jayne is offering her own advice to anyone hoping to join an ensemble cast. "My advice to anyone coming on would be to have a point of view and don't be afraid to speak your mind. Don't look for backup, because it's not coming." Besides hitting her tenth milestone season on _RHOBH_ , the star is also going back to her roots as DJ Pretty Mess by performing all throughout 2026. Her mission? To give the gays everything they want. "It's always for the gays! Who do you think it's for? All my life, my mentors and teachers have been gay people. To be an ally of the gay community is important. We need to show up for one another!" _The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills_ airs Thursday nights on Bravo. Best queer dating shows and where to watch them
### Historically, LGBTQ+ dating shows have been iconic, chaotic, hilarious, and dramatic. Unfortunately, there haven't been that many in comparison to the flood of dating shows for straight people. From chaotic bisexual dating shows in the 2000s to attempts of making queer versions of _The Bachelor_ to free-for-all shows where LGBTQ+ cast members are all free to explore connections with one another, fans have been keeping up with several creative approaches trying to reformat this genre of reality TV for queer people. While some of these shows were clearly not taken as seriously as their straight counterparts, queer people have always looked for representation wherever we can find it — and that's still true to this day. Queer fans of reality TV are still waiting for a massively successful LGBTQ+ dating show to reach mainstream audiences and air for many years to come. In the meantime, it's always fun to celebrate and highlight the shows that our community has had so far, be proud of the progress that we've made, and appreciate the queer love stories that we currently have access to on reality TV. **Explore some of the most popular LGBTQ+ dating shows released over the years, and find out where you can watch these queer reality shows online via streaming services.** ### 'For the Love of DILFs' Hosted by Stormy Daniels, ___For the Love of DILFs_ is a show where gay men are separated into two groups — "daddies" and "himbos" — as they all compete for to form connections and find love. **Where to watch:OUTtv.** ### 'Love Allways' Paramount+'s _Love Allways_ was led by pansexual bachelorette Lexi Paloma. On the show, Lexi explored connections with several single people who were vying for her heart. This dating series was all about "pansexual rights," and it was lovely to see it. **Where to watch:Paramount+.** ### 'Couple to Throuple' _Couple to Throuple_ is an original Peacock series that, in its first season, featured a gay couple — Ashmal Ali and Rehman Bhatti — along with straight couples who were all also looking for a third person to join their relationships. For Ashmal and Rehman, that new addition was Jonathan Intriago. Another LGBTQ+ couple that joined _Couple to Throuple_ over the course of season 1 was Maximo Oliveira and Ash — and they brought some juicy drama into the series, let's just say that! **Where to watch:Peacock.** ### 'The Ultimatum: Queer Love' Netflix's original _The Ultimatum_ series created a new, all-queer dating show _The Ultimatum: Queer Love_, which has aired for two seasons — both hosted by JoAnna Garcia Swisher — so far. Considering how messy drama, the entertaining contestants, and interesting storylines that this show has featured in the past, reality TV fans will keep coming back for more. **Where to watch:Netflix.** ### 'Farming for Love' The Canadian dating series _Farming for Love_ showcased queer farmers looking for partners who can adapt to their rural lifestyles. In turn, single contestants come into the dating show ready to fall for someone who's all about that farm life. In the second season of the show, Farmer Kirkland stood out to viewers as he had an entire group of single guys vying for his heart. **Where to watch:CTV (in Canada).** ### 'I Kissed a Boy' The U.K.'s first-ever gay reality dating series, _I Kissed a Boy_ , was hosted by singer Dannii Minogue and filmed in Italy. So far, this quite popular gay dating show has aired a second season and led to the all-sapphic spinoff _I Kissed a Girl_. _I Kissed a Boy_ centers a group of queer men who enter a villa looking for love, fun, and flings. Before they can talk, flirt, or do anything else, however, contestants must share a kiss. Everything else comes later. **Where to watch:Hulu.** ### 'I Kissed a Girl' Dannii Minogue returned as Cupid in the sapphic spinoff of BBC Three's _I Kissed a Boy_ , which is also streaming on Hulu for U.S. viewers. _I Kissed a Girl_ , a lesbian dating show spinoff that is actually _not_ referencing the Katy Perry song, follows a group of 10 girls looking for love amongst themselves and finding out what a kiss can reveal about one another. **Where to watch:Hulu.** ### 'The Boyfriend' Netflix's groundbreaking series _The Boyfriend_ was Japan's first-ever same-sex dating show in TV history. Over the course of the season, nine queer men lived in the same house — learning how to express themselves more confidently and freely with one another. After spending a full summer together, these adorable cast members forged lasting friendships, made deep connections, and even fell in love. **Where to watch:Netflix.** ### 'Married At First Sight UK' Over the years, the U.K. version of _Married At First Sight_ has featured several notable LGBTQ+ contestants and couples. From Zoe and Jenna, to Matt and Dan, to the casting of Ella Morgan — a trans woman — in the series, _Married At First Sight UK_ is really pushing for more inclusivity in the dating shows genre. **Where to watch: Channel 4 in the U.K.; Unavailable for streaming in the U.S. at the moment.** ### 'Túnel do Amor' Season 4 Picture it: You're watching the fourth season of a relatively new dating show airing on one of the biggest cable networks and streaming services in the country — a dating series that, despite having featured brief queer showmances in the past, is by all means akin to very straight dating shows like _Love Island_ and _Too Hot to Handle_. Except that, this time, two male contestants that viewers presumed were entirely straight end up confessing that they're acting very horny for each other in the middle of a house party. Those cast members, named Nathan Silva and Bruttoz, have a conversation that is extremely X-rated by any measure. Yet, somehow, that interaction still comes across as pretty earnest and endearing, as they're both clearly nervous while talking about their feelings and don't really know how to go about it. This scenario played out in season 4 of Brazil's _Túnel do Amor_ (which translates to _Love Tunnel_) on cable network Multishow and streaming service Globoplay (which is available for U.S. subscribers). Nathan Silva was at the center of the discourse regarding this reality TV saga, too, as he literally had never disclosed his feelings for other men, nor the fact that he wanted to explore his bisexuality on the show but didn't anticipate that he would be able to. At a different point in the season, Nathan even got to meet another contestant, Vini, with whom he also shared a pretty steamy kiss. **Where to watch:Globoplay.** ### 'Perfect Match' _Perfect Match_ has the interesting concept of combining dating show elements to an _All Stars_ -esque cast of popular reality TV stars from across different Netflix shows. Unsurprisingly, _Perfect Match_ does focus on the experience of men and women pairing up together as straight couples, even though the series encourages its cast members to "explore their sexualities." One reality TV icon who has always understood the assignment was _Too Hot to Handle_ legend Francesca Farago, who ended up getting matched with Abbey Humphreys (_Twentysomethings: Austin_). And they just went for it! Giving fans a glorious moment of queerness on a mainstream dating show on Netflix. **Where to watch:Netflix.** ### 'Are You the One?' Season 8 For the first time in reality TV history, season 8 of MTV's _Are You the One?_ featured an all-LGBTQ+ cast of contestants. Specifically, all contestants on _Are You The One?_ season 8 identified as pansexual, and the season — which aired in 2019 — was also praised for featuring trans cast members on a dating show. By the end of this _AYTO_ season, there were all sorts of pairings between the contestants, which was pretty lovely to see. **Where to watch:Paramount+.** ### 'Who Likes My Follower?' _Who Likes My Follower?_ is a Netflix dating series produced in Spain that featured LGBTQ+ contestants and coaches in its first season. The show had MLM pairings and WLW couples, making this an exciting watch for queer people across the sexuality spectrum. **Where to watch:Netflix.** ### 'Ex on the Beach' For a few years now, MTV's _Ex on the Beach_ has been featuring LGBTQ+ contestants on every single season. For instance, season five included Arisce Wanzer (trans woman), David Barta (pansexual man), Emily Salch (bisexual woman), Joelle Brian (gay man), Jonathan Troncoso (gay man), Kyra Green (bisexual woman), and Mike Mulderrig (bisexual man). **Where to watch:Paramount+.** ### '12 Dates of Christmas' When HBO Max released season 1 of _12 Dates of Christmas_ , it was perceived as a groundbreaking dating show in terms of LGBTQ+ representation — and rightfully so. In its first season, _12 Dates of Christmas_ featured three leads, one of whom (Garrett Marcantel) was a gay man. Viewers were then introduced to Garrett's various love interests over the course of the season. Queer representation was turned up even higher in the second season. Among the three leads, one was a gay man (Markelle Smith) and another was a lesbian woman (Amanda Grace Jenkins). As a result, two third of the overall cast for this dating show consisted of queer love interests vying for either the gay lead or the lesbian lead. Unfortunately, _12 Dates of Christmas_ was reportedly one of 87 shows that were canceled and removed from the HBO Max catalog, as reported by _IndieWire_. Other chopped TV shows with LGBTQ+ talent and storylines included _Legendary_ , _Generation_ , and even _Westworld_. **Where to watch: Unavailable.** ### 'Bachelor in Paradise' Season 6 Overall, ABC's _The Bachelor_ has been overwhelmingly straight (and mostly white) when it comes to its choices for leads and contestants. However, the franchise did feature one LGBTQ+ storyline in season 6 of _Bachelor in Paradise_ when contestant Demi Burnett revealed that she had just gotten into a relationship with a woman prior to filming the show. The woman in question — who had never appeared on television before — was Kristian Haggerty, who was brought into _Bachelor in Paradise_ and ended the season engaged to Burnett. **Where to watch:Hulu.** ### 'Bobby I Love You, Purrr' After going through a very public breakup with his ex-boyfriend, social media influencer and reality TV star Bobby Lytes got his own dating show titled _Bobby I Love You, Purrr_. The series featured 15 guys competing for Bobby's love, and we can confirm that things get really messy along the way. **Where to watch:Zeus Network.** ### 'Vanjie: 24 Hours of Love' Vanessa Vanjie Mateo broke the internet with her legendary "Miss Vanjie" exit from _RuPaul's Drag Race_ season 10. She then returned to compete in season 11 and _All Stars 9_ — making it to the grand finale during that most recent season. In 2022, Vanjie got to lead her very own dating show, _Vanjie: 24 Hours of Love_ , and actually dated the contestant who won the season, Jack Janowicz, for months. Alas, the couple eventually went their separate ways. Fans have speculated that the _24 Hours of Love_ format could be used for other _Drag Race_ stars. Moreover, Vanjie's journey to the _All Stars 9_ finale has absolutely left fans wanting to see more of Miss Vanjie on TV. Season 2, perhaps? Stay tuned. **Where to watch:WOW Presents Plus.** ### 'Dating Around' Netflix not only released a few seasons of _Dating Around_ in the U.S. — which were even nominated for awards — but also expanded the new format to other countries. An unconventional dating series, _Dating Around_ centers on one particular individual for each episode. That person goes through a series of dates that take place on different nights (but are all edited together for our viewing pleasure). The end result of each episode is always interesting, besides the fact that it's quite revealing in terms of how people _really_ act like on a date. **Where to watch:Netflix.** ### 'The Bi Life' Right after winning _Celebrity Big Brother 21_ in the UK, Courtney Act was hired as the host of a bisexual dating show called _The Bi Life_. The series wasn't necessarily received well by the critics or the public, but it was still a TV show that made history for its wide visibility of bisexual people on reality television. **Where to watch:Hayu (select locations).** ### 'Dating Unlocked' _Dating Unlocked_ is an LGBTQ+ dating show from Canada with single contestants who compete in games and go through elimination rounds for the chance to "unlock" a second date. The series, which can be streamed on OUTtv in the U.S., has had two seasons thus far. **Where to watch:OUTtv.** ### 'The One That Got Away' Prime Video's _The One That Got Away_ had a pretty interesting concept for a dating show: Instead of making brand-new connections and forging deep romantic relationships in just a few weeks, these cast members had the chance to reconnect with a special person who they considered "the one that got away." While the show featured a few straight couples, it had queer icon and Out100 honoree Betty Who as the host of the entire series, as well as Jeff Perla and Alex Van Gurp as a prominent and entertaining gay couple. **Where to watch:Prime Video.** ### 'Love at First Lie' MTV's _Love At First Lie_ featured quite a few LGBTQ+ couples. For instance, the cast included queer couples like Stephanie and Arabella; Jake and Alfie; Tom and Steven; Fannie and Clove; and Jack and Joe. Generally speaking, the premise of this show was a challenge for the couples to spot which pair of lovers among them was actually fake (not a real couple at all), all while actually going through the motions of being in a dating competition. **Where to watch:Paramount+.** ### 'Sparks Camp' Season 1 of _Sparks Camp_ had our eyes glued to the screen. Thankfully, a second season of this beloved queer reality dating series was picked up, featuring an all-new cast of Pinoy heartthrobs for viewers to root for. **Where to watch:YouTube via @BlackSheepPH.** ### 'You Hauled' _You Hauled_ is a lesbian dating show featuring a group of single queer women looking for love. Leaning into the stereotype that lesbians fall in love too quickly and move in right away with one another (thus needing to rent a U-Haul), the tagline of this fun and wild dating show is, "Move in or move on!" We're here for it. **Where to watch:YouTube.** ### 'Finding Prince Charming' One of the first major gay dating shows to happen on cable TV was 2016's _Finding Prince Charming_. This series from Logo TV featured Atlanta-based interior designer Robert Sepulveda Jr. as the lead, as well as eight contestants vying for his love and attention. Ultimately, Sepulveda chose Eric Leonardos as the winner, but their relationship didn't last long after the show. **Where to watch:Logo TV.** ### 'A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila' It was literally groundbreaking for a social media personality like Tila Tequila to identify as bisexual in the 2000s and then land her very own bisexual dating show on MTV. On _A Shot at Love_ , 16 straight men and 16 lesbian women competed to win over Tila Tequila's heart. In subsequent years, Tila Tequila became a much more polarizing figure and also denied ever being attracted to women in any way, claiming that she only did and said such things for _A Shot at Love_ to work as a dating show. **Where to watch:The Roku Channel.** ### 'Next' The campy and hilarious _Next_ was an episodic speed-dating show that involved as many as five people at a time. This chaotic reality TV gem aired on MTV between 2005 and 2008 — and even though the overall series had very few episodes featuring LGBTQ+ contestants, watching this show was a kiki and a good time no matter what. **Where to watch:Paramount+.**

Instructor who gave OU student a zero on anti-trans paper removed from teaching
The University of Oklahoma graduate assistant who gave a student a failing grade on an anti-transgender paper will no longer be teaching at the university, officials said Monday. Graduate teaching assistant Mel Curth, who is trans, was placed on administrative leave a few weeks ago after giving student Samantha Fulnecky a zero on her psychology paper. The paper described transgender people as “demonic” and asserted that gender roles are “Biblically ordained.” Fulnecky claimed the grade was retaliation for her religious views, but Curth said the zero was based on academic criteria. Curth wrote that the essay “does not answer the questions for this assignment, contradicts itself, heavily uses personal ideology over empirical evidence in a scientific class, and is at times offensive.” Curth also noted that portraying a marginalized group as “demonic” is “highly offensive” and urged the student to use empirical sources rather than doctrinal statements when critiquing course material. The university posted a statement to social media Monday saying the graduate assistant “was arbitrary in the grading of this specific paper” and “will no longer have instructional duties.” It did not name either Curth or Fulnecky, but their names have been disclosed elsewhere. > — (@) The statement said the university had investigated the student’s claim of religious discrimination but would not release the findings. The university had already decided on her appeal of her grade and removed the paper from her total point value for her class, so there “was no academic harm” to her, the statement noted. “The University of Oklahoma believes strongly in both its faculty’s rights to teach with academic freedom and integrity and it students’ right to receive an education that is free from a lecturer’s impermissible evaluative standards,” the statement continued. “We are committed to teaching students how to think, not what to think.” **Related:**From Riley Gaines to OU, conservatives are making their failures everyone else's problem The school’s chapter of the American Association of University Professors thought little of the university’s statement. “Essentially, nothing is new here,” a spokesperson for the chapter said in a statement to TV station KFOR. “OU claims without providing any supporting or specific reasons why Mel Curth was removed. They have claimed in the past in press releases that this was due to supposed and disturbing claims of ‘religious discrimination’ that clash with academic freedom. Is it now? Instead, they hide behind vague statements and essentially assertions of ‘trust us.’ At this point, they need to show us and not tell us. And once again, OU is making an employment decision public, which is inflaming the situation.” The university has placed a second instructor on leave after, according to school officials, she told students they would be excused from class to attend a protest in favor of Curth. Student newspaper _OU Nightly_ identified Kelli Alvarez as the instructor for the course, which is English composition. Kalib Magana, president of the University of Oklahoma’s Turning Point USA chapter, asked whether counterprotesters would also receive excused absences. Alvarez replied that a counterprotest must be organized. None was, but several conservative students made their views known at the pro-Curth demonstration. Magana filed a complaint against Alvarez with the university. Turning Point USA is a right-wing student organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk. **Related:**Texas college students report increase in harassment, mistreatment amid academic LGBTQ+ crackdown There has been controversy over issues of gender identity at other universities in conservative states. Melissa McCoul, a professor at Texas A&M, was fired in September after a student complained about McCoul’s discussion of the topic. In November, the Texas A&M Board of Regents barred faculty from discussing “race or gender ideology” in the 12 universities it oversees.

NHL: Heated Rivalry is 'unique driver for creating new fans'
The National Hockey League has issued a new statement acknowledging the impact that the Crave/HBO Max show _Heated Rivalry_ is having on welcoming new fans to professional hockey as a sport. A new feature story about _Heated Rivalry_ — exploring how the show is catering to a "long-overlooked corner of the audience" and has subsequently "caught Hollywood by surprise" — was published by _The Hollywood Reporter_ today. Unexpectedly, the story includes a statement from the NHL itself. "Even the NHL, which in recent years has been trying to broaden its appeal to gay sports fans with LGBTQ-themed events and nights, has expressed delight with the program," the story on _The Hollywood Reporter_ reads. The NHL statement in question, shared with the publication in response to the success of _Heated Rivalry_ , reads: "There are so many ways to get hooked on hockey and, in the NHL's 108-year history, this might be the most unique driver for creating new fans. See you all at the rink." > See on Instagram It's hard to ignore the whimsically vague tone of this NHL statement, though such a thing can be interpreted in different ways. For instance, many hockey fans are thrilled by the idea that _Heated Rivalry_ could deepen the NHL's support for the LGBTQ+ athletes. Meanwhile, other observers have recalled the league's ever-changing stance on outwardly supporting the LGBTQ+ community. A month and a half prior to the _Heated Rivalry_ premiere, _Outsports_ noted that "the NHL stands alone among the Big 4 men's pro team sports with no out gay players." In a recent interview between journalist John Casey and out gay male former pro hockey player Brock McGillis, the athlete recalled how his "career trajectory changed as injuries piled up alongside depression, heavy drinking, and self-harm" while he was still actively playing in the NHL. Generally, women's professional hockey leagues have been starkly different. When considering if _Heated Rivalry_ could have a positive impact on the inclusion of more out gay players, _Out_ noted that the Professional Women's Hockey League has 30 out queer players as of 2025. A similar sentiment was echoed by _Heated Rivalry_ actor Harrison Browne — the first out transgender athlete in professional team sports who came out as a trans man while playing in the Premier Hockey Federation (formerly known as the National Women's Hockey League) — during an interview with _Out_. Alas, the dynamics between the LGBTQ+ community and men's professional sports leagues — NHL included — haven't been as peaceful and straightforward. Given that the NHL has now acknowledged _Heated Rivalry_ 's "unique" impact on "creating new fans," one might consider that there's still hope for more positive changes. **_Heated Rivalry_ is streaming on HBO Max.**

Six of Nicki Minaj's wildest comments at the Turning Point USA conference
### Rapper Nicki Minaj continued her descent into MAGA-land over the weekend, joining Erika Kirk at the Turning Point USA conference in Phoenix, Arizona. The four-day conference hosted by the right-wing youth activism group founded by Charlie Kirk featured many conservative speakers, including Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk; Ben Shapiro; Tucker Carlson; Megyn Kelly; and Vice President JD Vance. The event was filled with viral moments, including one where Kirk was talking to a student named Caleb when she had an unfortunate Freudian slip. "Despite the devastating loss of Charlie Kirk, my incredible husband, at UVA, Caleb has persisted with the same grift," she said, before changing her wording to "gift" and then "grit." However, many of the conference's most astounding moments come from guest speaker Nicki Minaj. The rapper, who was once a beloved figure in the queer community and has voiced support for the LGBTQ+ community, has been effusive in her praise for President Donald Trump lately, and continued her praise at the conference. As her appearance at the conference makes its rounds on social media, so is a resurfaced video of Charlie saying that Minaj is "not a good role model" for young Black women. He also wrote about Minaj in a post on X, where he said: "Democrats' treatment of Nicki Minaj should be all the proof you need that they don't care about Black people, especially those they can’t control." The post continues and says, "They just use them every four years for their votes. But people are waking up." Here are six of the wildest moments that took place during Minaj's appearance at the conference. ### "Super Bass" > — (@) As Minaj joined the recently-widowed wife of the slain political commentator on stage, the speakers played one of Minaj’s classic hits, "Super Bass." It was a bizarre start to a particularly uncomfortable conversation between the two women. ### "New Scum" tweets > — (@) Kirk had Minaj read some of her transphobic and anti-Gavin-Newsom tweets out loud on stage. One of the tweets included the rapper’s critique of the California governor for saying he wants to "see trans kids." "Imagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids. Haha. Not even a trans ADULT would run on that," Minaj read from her X post. "Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids." ### Trump is "handsome" > — (@) "I have the utmost respect and admiration for our president. I don't know if he even knows this, but he's given so many people hope that there's a chance to beat the bad guys and to win and to do it with your head held high and your integrity intact," Minaj said. Later, when asked about male role models, she called Trump "our handsome, dashing president." ### JD Vance is an "assassin" > — (@) When Minaj praised Trump as a positive role model for young men in America, she also mentioned the vice president. "Young men, you have amazing role models like our handsome, dashing president, and you have amazing role models like the assassin JD Vance, our vice president," she said to Kirk, whose husband, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated murdered by an assassin's bullet while he was speaking at Utah Valley University. "And when I say that... mmm," Minaj said, before going uncharacteristically silent. "Trust me, there's nothing new under the sun that I have not heard. So you're fine," Kirk replied, as Minaj continued to be silent. "If the internet wants to clip it, who cares?" Kirk continued. "I love Nicki. She's an amazing woman. She has a soul and a heart, and it doesn't even matter." ### Christians being "persecuted" in America > — (@) Minaj and Kirk discussed the issue of Christians in Nigeria, which Minaj has previously praised Trump for. She went even further, saying that America will “speak up for Christians wherever they are in the world," and that conservatives need to watch out for politicians who won't stand up for Christians. She said that "prior administrations saw nothing wrong" with Christians being persecuted, "and that's what's wrong with them." "I truly feel that there are people out there who felt good about chastising Christians right here in our country. And it’s kind of really, really sick," Minaj said. "We can't let people like that be in power, you guys. That's the truth. I can sugarcoat it and laugh and tee-hee, but the truth is, I am here today to tell you guys that we absolutely cannot let people who have a problem with us worshipping God… we cannot have them in power." ### "Boys, be boys" > — (@) Minaj explained that she is sad that "other children" than Black girls are being told "not to be proud of themselves." "I don't need someone with blonde hair and blue eyes to downplay their beauty, because I know my beauty," she said. She added that she thinks boys are being discouraged from being masculine. "It’s OK. Be boys," she said. "There’s nothing wrong with being a boy… How powerful is that? How profound is that? Boys will be boys, and there’s nothing wrong with that."

Bowen Yang's 11 most iconic 'Saturday Night Live' characters
### After seven and a half seasons as one of _Saturday Night Live_ 's brightest stars, Bowen Yang is hanging up his hat. With five Primetime Emmy nominations, Yang is not only the most-nominated Asian male performer in Emmy history, but also one of the most memorable _SNL_ cast members of the last 20 years, and an LGBTQ+ trailblazer. "I loved working at _SNL_ , and most of all I loved the people," Yang wrote on Instagram. "I was there at a time when many things in the world started to seem futile, but working at 30 Rock taught me the value in showing up anyway when people make it worthwhile." As a tribute to this comedy great, we're looking back at some of our favorite Bowen Yang characters and sketches on _Saturday Night Live_ over the years. ### The iceberg that sank the Titanic. One of Yang's most iconic bits on _SNL_ is when he joined Weekend Update as the Iceberg that sank the Titanic, explaining his side of the story and promoting his new "hyper-pop EDM new disco fantasia" album. "First of all, you came to where I live, and you hit me!" Yang, as the iceberg says. "And before I turn around, and go like, 'what,' half my ass is gone, which was my best feature, and I'm literally injured, and all anyone cares about is 40 or 50 people died or whatever." "Well, it was 1,500 people," Weekend Update host Colin Jost replies. The Iceberg shouts, "Why are you attacking me?!" **Where to watch:_Saturday Night Live_ season 46 episode 17, which aired on A****pril 10, 2021.** ### A proud gay Oompa-Loompa. In the buildup to Timothée Chalamet playing "twink Willy Wonka" in the _Wonka_ film, Yang went on Weekend Update as an Oompa Loompa who is outed by Colin on live television. After beginning to read a prepared statement about an Oompa Loompa strike, he's derailed by dealing with his coming out. He tells Colin his parents live in "Loompa Land, it's not as progressive there. They, like, just got _Will & Grace_. So yeah, it's gonna be a _conversation_." "Sorry, I'm just curious, do I just give off a gay vibe?" The Oompa Loompa asks Colin. When Colin tells him he has "a lot of product in his hair," the Oompa Loompa responds, "Okay, and you just stepped out of the shower like that with yours? Pot kettle. Okay, wow, I'm being a bitch!" "But honestly, it does feel nice to be out. And, I don't know, maybe now that I'm out of the closet, you can come too, Colin," he says. ****Where to watch:**_Saturday Night Live_ season 47 episode 3, which aired on October 16, 2021.** ### Dobby discusses J.K. Rowling. Yang has never shied away from calling out bigots and ignorance in his comedy, and in 2025, he took a shot at _Harry Potter_ author J.K. Rowling's transphobia when he went on Weekend Update as Dobby the House Elf. A shaking Dobby insisted he wasn't nervous to "publicly weigh in on trans people" and beat himself every time he did something he thought his "master" wouldn't like. "Why? Dobby doesn't know," Yang says in the sketch, "Perhaps because house elves are somehow always the problem, even though we're only 1 percent of the population. But house elves aren't the victims; Master Rowling is. She gets so much hate mail." Not even a wardrobe malfunction could stop Yang on this one! **Where to watch:_Saturday Night Live_ season 51 episode 1, which aired on October 4, 2025.** ### Sara Lee executives meet with social media manager. In this 2019 sketch, Yang and Cecily Strong play executives at food brand Sara Lee, who call in a social media manager (played by Harry Styles) to talk to him about his inappropriate and chaotic queer tweets from the Sara Lee account. The social media posts include comments on a "random fashion twink" that include "a few eggplants, water drops, a train, and a ghost emoji" and a cheesecake caption that reads, "A little moody after being used. Why do guys freak out when I ask them to spit in mouth? Need a real king that can handle. It's 8 am and have to go to hell job at sara lee. A little in my head after another threesome." **Where to watch:_Saturday Night Live_ season 45 episode 6, which aired on November 16, 2019.** ### Moo Deng comments on newfound fame. In 2024, Yang dressed up as viral baby hippo Moo Deng for a Weekend Update appearance where he called out over-zealous fans of artists like Chappell Roan while getting sprayed in the face with water from a hose and having shellfish thrown at him. "Honestly, Colin, sometimes I feel like I live my life in a cage, you know? Like an animal, trapped in a zoo, for people to look at," the zoo star quips. (Yang as) Moo Deng also defends Roan, saying as a fellow viral star, he understands what she's going through. "Let her take as much time as she needs for her mental health. We both deserve patience and grace… so stop harassing her, and stop throwing shellfish at her," Moo Deng says. "This is what society does: it puts young women on pedestals only to knock them down with shellfish." **Where to watch:_Saturday Night Live_ season 50 episode 1, which aired on September 28, 2024.** ### Bowen's straight. When Sydney Sweeney came on _SNL_ as a host, Bowen revealed his greatest secret: He's actually straight and plays a gay character on the show. When Sweeney laments to cast members Heidi Gardner and Ego Nwodim that she has a crush on Bowen, they encourage the actress to go for it. "Bowen pulls!" they tell her. From there, Yang puts on his best straight-face, telling Sweeney that his type is: "blonde, smart, heavy naturals" and shrugging off Sweeney after they sleep together. "Yeah, I got a lot going on," he tells her. "Plus, I got to keep up appearances with the whole 'gay' thing. It's kind of my meal ticket." **Where to watch:_Saturday Night Live_ season 49 episode 13, which aired on March 2, 2024.** ### Gay man with a straight male friend. When NFL player Travis Kelce hosted _SNL_ , Yang produced a commercial for a "Straight Male Friend," a "low-effort, low-stakes relationship" that requires "no emotional commitment, no financial investment," and "no drama." When Bowen needs a break from his girl friends, he's able to turn to his straight male friend, a friend who won't talk about his personal problems, doesn't care if he gets ignored for months or even years. The only drawback? He "isn't perfect, and may ask blunt questions about your sex life," but don't worry, "he's only asking because he's honestly curious. There's something sweet about that." **Where to watch:_Saturday Night Live_ season 48 episode 14, which aired on March 4, 2023.** ### The trend forecasters. In Yang's final _SNL_ episode, his former costar Aidy Bryant returned as the other half of this fabulous duo of trend forecasters on Weekend Update. In their several appearances, the two highly fashionable, cutting-edge trendsetters call out things that are in (shirt too big for body, hat too small for head) and out (movie posters as decor; "Are you a damn Band-Aid? Because I want to rip you off!" Yang shouts). The experts also go over trends in fruit, babies, men, and anything else you might need advice on. **Where to watch:_Saturday Night Live_ season 47 episode 12, which aired on January 29, 2022.** ### A SoulCycle instructor. In this classic sketch, Yang teamed up with fellow queer cast member Kate McKinnon to play some very intense tryout SoulCycle instructors. "I live life with no regrets," Yang tells his class. "Abraham Lincoln died. It didn't have to happen. Poor guy, if I would've been there, I would've stopped it. But I wasn't. Will you be? Let's ride!" "This morning I googled 'racism,' and guess what? It bummed me out," he says the next time he gets on the bike. "And then I googled 'gay racism,' and that was even worse. So you know what I did? I flushed my computer down the toilet because I don't need that negativity in my life. Let's ride!" **Where to watch:_Saturday Night Live_ season 45 episode 3, which aired on November 12, 2019.** ### George Santos's expelled cold open. One of Yang's best recurring characters is former politician and convicted criminal George Santos. In one of his most memorable performances, Yang appeared as Santos in the SNL cold open, holding a press conference after being expelled from Congress. "This entire country has been bullying me because I am a proud gay thief," he says. "What else is new? America hates to see a Latina Queen winning. Since the day I was elected, it's been a witch hunt. But if I'm guilty of anything, it's for loving too much/fraud." After explaining that he'll be seen as "the modern Princess Diana" and "the modern Marilyn Monroe, he sings a beautiful rendition of Elton John's "Candle in the Wind," retitled "Scandal in the Wind." **Where to watch:_Saturday Night Live_ season 49 episode 7, which aired on December 2, 2023.** ### First openly bottom guy on 'SNL.' When Shang-Chi star Simu Liu hosted _SNL_ in 2021, he and Yang made history as the first Asian male host and Asian male cast member to star together in an episode. In this sketch, the two men are having a first-off, bragging about being the "first Asian Marvel Lead" and "first fully Asian cast member on SNL," adding that they got awards for things like "first gay Asian cast member to mispronounce 'boutique'" and "first Asian man to deadpan on Splash Mountain." "You know, it's almost embarrassing, I didn't even tell anyone about being one of People's Sexiest Men Alive." "Weren't you the first openly bottom guy on that list?" Liu asks. "I'm not open about that. Who told you that?" Yang responds. "Oh, sorry, I just guessed," Liu fires back, prompting a "Oh nice! Good job!" from Yang. **Where to watch:_Saturday Night Live_ season 47 episode 7, which aired on November 20, 2021.**

Dave Chappelle defends Saudia Arabia set: Trans jokes 'went over very well'
On Friday, Netflix quietly dropped Dave Chappelle's newest comedy special, _Dave Chappelle: The Unstoppable…_ and in it, he talked about his controversial performance at the Riyadh Comedy Festival in Saudi Arabia. In the special, the comedian said that he has no problem taking money from the country because he said, "it’s easier to talk in Saudi Arabia for me than it is in America," and said that he was almost canceled because he joked about trans people. But, he said, "I’ve gotta tell you something — transgender jokes went over very well in Saudi Arabia." Chappelle has a history of making anti-trans remarks in all of his most recent standup specials from 2019 to 2022. He's been called out by other comedians for these transphobic jokes — yet has still gone on to win awards and get invited to perform on significant stages. It was a shock to most comedy fans when it was announced that Chappelle, along with a host of other prominent comedians, would perform in Saudi Arabia at a new comedy festival. Many in the comedy world (and human rights groups) denounced Riyadh Comedy Festival for its ties to a government known for strict policies and widespread civil and political violations, including the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi and Saudi Minister of Entertainment Turki Al-Sheikh’s noted torture of his critics. Not to mention, same-sex activity is illegal and punishable by death in Saudi Arabia. Comedians called out the festival and the headliners who agreed to perform, including Chapelle, Bill Burr, Louis C.K., Kevin Hart, Whitney Cummings, Pete Davidson, and Hannibal Buress, among others. In his special, Chappelle also addressed Charlie Kirk's assassination, sharing that he was "shook" because after news outlets reported, but then later walked back, claims that there were "pro-transgender" phrases on the bullets that killed him, "I was at home like, ‘Oh no! I’m dead as fried chicken,'" he said. Nonetheless, Chappelle boasted about taking money from the Saudi government, saying in his special, "I’ll take money from Saudi Arabia any day just so I can say no over here. It feels good to be free." He continued, "And I know that the people in Saudi Arabia can’t say all the things that I was allowed to say. But a deal’s a deal, and the king said that I could say these things. So I looked at it like I was on a diplomatic mission: I’ve gotta bring pussy jokes to the Middle East.” But the comedian said he doesn't "feel guilty at all" and had a few choice words for those who've spoken out against the festival: "These motherfuckers act like because I did a comedy festival in Saudi Arabia I somehow betrayed my principles… They said, ‘Well, Saudi Arabia killed a journalist,’ and rest in peace, Jamal Khashoggi. I’m sorry that he got murdered in such a heinous fashion. And also, look, bro, Israel’s killed 240 journalists in the last three months, so I didn’t know y’all were still counting.”

Plastique Tiara and Nymphia Wind's new tour is a 'renaissance of drag shows'
_RuPaul's Drag Race_ superstars Plastique Tiara and Nymphia Wind have officially joined forces for _The Serpents Tour_ , which will slither its way across the U.S. starting January 25 in New York and is currently scheduled to run through February 16 in Portland. Inspired by the classic Asian folktale of the _Legend of the White Snake_ , the show follows two mystical serpents — embodied by Nymphia and Plastique — on a journey of adversity and sisterhood. On the show, these two stars are serving up fashion, theatrical storytelling, and dynamic performances to celebrate Asian heritage, pop culture, and drag artistry. Moreover, each city in _The Serpents Tour_ will feature local AAPI and LGBTQ+ talent, thus platforming local artists to shine and amplify their unique perspectives. In an interview with _Out_ , Plastique and Nymphia break down their friendship pre- and post-_Drag Race_ , what inspired them to unite for _The Serpents Tour_ , and why fans won't want to miss out on this dazzling production. Nymphia Wind and Plastique Tiara in _The Serpents Tour_ poster.Courtesy of The Serpents Tour **_Out_ : What inspired you to do _The Serpents Tour_ inspired by the _Legend of the White Snake_?** **Plastique Tiara:** The _Legend of the White Snake_ is a story I grew up with across Asian culture. In Vietnamese, it is known as _Thanh Xà Bạch Xà_. To me, it is the most cunty Asian mythology. It is layered with love, sacrifice, rebirth, and survival, but it is also about chosen family; that idea of being joined in spirit rather than by blood is something many gay people understand deeply. At its core, the legend is about choosing who you are in a world that often asks you not to exist. Reclaiming that story and turning it into a celebration felt very personal to me. **Nymphia Wind:** I grew up in Taiwan with the _Legend of the White Snake_ everywhere in movies and pop culture. It's one of those stories that quietly sits in the back of your mind. When we started developing this tour, it felt natural to go back to a myth that already lives in so many Asian kids' imagination. As a queer person, I feel connected to its themes of transformation, forbidden love, and breaking societal rules. Turning this legend into a drag show felt like a way to show appreciation for the classic tale while reimagining it on our own terms. **Plastique, you're embodying the White Snake from the _Legend of the White Snake_. Are there similarities between you and that character?** **Plastique:** The White Snake represents softness that is often mistaken for weakness. She is elegant and nurturing, but also resilient and defiant. I see myself in that duality. Someone who's had to endure quietly and grow stronger, through transformation, is behind this image that most people see as glamour. Her strength is not loud, it is steady. She becomes more herself rather than less, which mirrors my journey in drag and in life.**** Plastique Tiara in _The Serpents Tour_ poster.Courtesy of The Serpents Tour **Nymphia,**you're representing the Green Snake from the _Legend of the White Snake_. Are there similarities between you and that character?**** **Nymphia:** Green Snake has chaotic best-friend energy, and I relate to that, maybe a little too much. She's loyal, impulsive, and always ready to cause trouble for the people she loves. She doesn't behave. She doesn't fit the image of a "good" woman or a "proper" spirit, and that feels very Nymphia. People often see the banana, the silliness, and the camp first… But, underneath that, there is someone who survives by turning pain into humor and spectacle. Green Snake survives by staying playful and defiant, and I see my own drag in that balance of clown and guardian. **How and when did the two of you become friends, and how did that lead to doing a joint tour together?** **Plastique:** I actually met Nymphia in 2019 at a bar afterparty while I was touring in Taipei, and I remember thinking she was so pretty. It really felt like fate from that day. Years later, on _All Stars 9_ , I was asking production for a needle and thread, and they handed me a Ziplock bag with this super strong thread. On the bag, it said "Nymphia." I laughed because it felt like the universe reminding me of that connection. When we reconnected, there was immediate respect for each other as artists who care deeply about our craft. We come from different seasons and backgrounds, but we share an understanding that comes from being Asian in this industry. From there, creative trust grew naturally, and once we started dreaming bigger together, a tour felt inevitable. **Nymphia:** I remember coming across Plastique's Instagram way back in 2017, when her eyebrows were arched high on her forehead and she was padded to the gods and doing all the splits and hair tricks. I remember thinking, "This drag queen is so fierce!" A couple years later, she appeared on _Drag Race_ and totally transformed into this unattainable beauty. Cut to 2019 when she came to Taipei, I remember seeing her walk into an afterparty and I gagged because this was someone who I'd been watching through my screen for years. And I was fangirling… __boots! We reconnected after I got on _Drag Race_. Getting to know each other, it just made sense to do a tour together. We're both dedicated to showcasing Asian drag excellence through beauty and fashion. It's become a passion project for us to build together. Nymphia Wind in _The Serpents Tour_ poster.Courtesy of The Serpents Tour **Did you identify any fun or interesting cultural similarities/differences between the two of you?** **Plastique:** People often group Asian communities together, but there are so many nuances within our cultures. Even though Nymphia and I are both Asian, our backgrounds are very different. We grew up with different languages, traditions, and humor. What we strongly share is how deeply we care about our craft. Because we are both representing**** minorities, we dream big. Our ideas are otherworldly, over the top, and unapologetic, and that shared ambition has**** made this collaboration exciting and joyful. **Nymphia:** Exactly what Plastique said. Even though we both spent most of our childhoods in Asia, we've also certainly had very different drag upbringings. It's been fun finding ways to bring our distinct styles together while coming up with concepts for this show. **Plastique, what's your favorite thing about Taiwan (Nymphia's home country)? Did you learn anything about its culture through from Nymphia?** **Plastique:** What I love most about Taiwan is the balance between tradition and modern life. There is so much creativity, openness, and pride there. The "Gaysians" there know what is up. Through Nymphia, I have learned that honoring your culture can be playful and bold. She brings joy into everything she does while still being intentional, and that has inspired me to approach my own heritage with even more freedom and fun. Nymphia Wind and Plastique Tiara in _The Serpents Tour_ poster.Courtesy of The Serpents Tour **Nymphia, what's your favorite thing about Vietnam (Plastique's home country)?****Did Plastique teach you anything about Vietnam?** **Nymphia:** My favorite things about Vietnam are the beautiful landscapes and architecture, especially in Hanoi. I also think Vietnam has a particularly unique mix of East Asian and Southeast Asian cultural influences. There are also many Vietnamese people in Taiwan, and so it feels so familiar yet different at the same time. And obviously pho! I've been learning some Vietnamese words with Plastique, but they might not be appropriate here. **How would you invite fans to buy tickets and go see _The Serpents Tour_?** **Plastique:** This is more than a drag show. It is a celebration of Asian excellence, but it is also about having fun again. _The Serpents Tour_ feels like a renaissance of drag shows, where storytelling, fashion, humor, and fantasy all collide. It is our love letter to drag and to transformation, with never before seen elements woven throughout the show. We want audiences to laugh, escape, feel inspired, and leave reminded of just how powerful and fun drag can be. **Nymphia:** You don't need to know the original legend to enjoy _The Serpents Tour_. People from any cultural background can see themselves in this story. I'm excited for fans to witness the fashion moments on stage that Plastique and I are specifically designing for this tour. Come with an open mind and celebrate drag with us! I hope anyone who sees the show will walk away feeling empowered. **For tickets and more information about Nymphia Wind and Plastique Tiara's _The Serpents Tour_ , visit NymphiaPlastiqueLive.com** Full schedule of dates for _The Serpents Tour_.Courtesy of The Serpents Tour

'Chess' director Michael Mayer hasn't read reviews in 30 years
Michael Mayer knows star power when he sees it. He's worked with some of the most talented performers in contemporary theater, including Sutton Foster in _Thoroughly Modern Millie_ , Kristin Chenoweth in _You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown_ , and Jonathan Groff and Liam Gallagher Jr. in _Spring Awakening_. He's done everything from classics like _Uncle Vanya,_ to brand-new musicals like _American Idiot,_ to revivals such as _Funny Girl_ , _Hedwig and the Angry Inch_ , and most recently, _Chess_. _Chess_ first made its mark on Broadway back in 1988 and held fewer than 100 shows before closing that same year. But now, the show (with music by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA) is finding a new life on Broadway thanks to Mayer and the production team that believed in its power. But the biggest challenge, he says, was figuring out a way to make the show work, because it never quite did. The best way to stage it for an audience in 2025, the Tony-winning director tells _Out_ , is to "celebrate the elements of the piece that stood the test of time and not get in their way, while still trying to figure out how to tell a new story," sharing that 50 percent of it is brand new and 50 percent of it is preserved from the original work. The production arrives at a particularly tense moment in American life, given today's current political climate, and that is mirrored for the audience in the show's premise. And Mayer knew he needed an all-star cast for this updated version of _Chess_ , which follows a love triangle among three world-class chess players. Freddie Trumper is played by one of Broadway's most in-demand male performers, Aaron Tveit. Trumper's second (or chess coach/assistant), Florence Vassy, is portrayed by the vocal powerhouse Lea Michele, and rounding out the indomitable trio is the supremely talented Nicholas Christopher as Anatoly Sergievsky. The two men are playing the match of their lives, unknowingly used as pawns by their respective governments, while fighting over the same woman, and the entire production becomes one big game of chess. Aaron Tveit in "Chess" on BroadwayMatthew Murphy Mayer and the new book writer, Danny Strong, have been working on this project for close to a decade. They started having conversations about the show 10 years ago, but the ball really started moving eight years ago. Over the years, they've done workshops, readings, and concert performances before finally securing a spot on Broadway. It finally came time to get a cast together, and Mayer got to work. He's known Michele since she was 14, after the two did _Spring Awakening_ back in the early 2000s, so they've kept in touch over the years. When he revived _Funny Girl_ on Broadway, he cast Michele in the part, and during this time, he broached the subject of _Chess_ with her. Michele loved the idea but wanted to have a baby first, and when her son was a year old, they started rehearsals for the show. Christopher has been on Mayer's radar for a few years now, and he cast the actor in his off-Broadway production of _Little Shop of Horrors _after seeing him in the most recent revival of _Sweeney Todd_. "Last summer, I had Nick read for Anatoly, and he was so beautiful that I knew I wanted him to do it if and when we got the chance to do [_Chess_] on Broadway." Lea Michelle and Nicholas Christopher in "Chess" in BroadwayMatthew Murphy It was actually Michele who suggested Mayer cast Tveit in the role of Trumper. "I knew he could sing the shit out of the songs," Mayer says. "But interestingly, I'd never seen him do a character like this. We had a really terrific lunch where, after he read the script, we'd discussed the show and I talked about how I really was interested in pushing him outside his own comfort zone." Earlier this year, the _New York Times_ wrote a story about how the Broadway musical was "in trouble," reporting that none of the 18 musicals that opened the season prior made a profit, pointing to shows like _Boop_ , _Smash_ , and _Tammy Faye_ , which each came with a price tag of over $20 million, and none of them lasted more than four months. There are several factors contributing to the struggling business, but one is that attendance is still a bit lower than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic. In today's market, it feels like Broadway productions are swimming upstream. Given that Mayer has done close to two dozen shows on Broadway (with a few revivals under his belt), he was asked to share his wisdom on what constitutes a successful revival: recouping investments, satisfying fans, or critical acclaim? "I have not read a single review of anything that I've done since 1995. I won't do it. I don't like to see it. I don't want to hear the words," he responds. "It's profoundly uninteresting to me, what the what critics have to say, unless it's going to be helpful to sell tickets, because we are in a commercial world." Mayer continues, "Broadway is ultimately about butts and seats. There's nothing I can do about that. That's just the world I ended up in." Aaron Tveit and Lea Michele in "Chess" on BroadwayMatthew Murphy He maintains that, to him, the true measure of success is whether the show works for the audience, whether they respond well to the production put in front of them. "I care about the audience and what their experience is," the director says. "When you're directing, you're not just telling the actors, the designers, and the musicians what you want, what you're really doing is directing the audience... My primary job is to show the audience where to look, what to listen to, and how to receive something. And I need the audience to do that." **_Chess_ is now playing at the Imperial Theatre on Broadway. Learn more at chessbroadway.com.**

Straight Nonsense: The Trump-Kennedy Center would make sense—if I were a nitwit
_In the column_ Straight Nonsense,_columnist Moises Mendez II takes a queer eye to the insanity of straight culture._ For the past couple of days, I've been telling my friends that I wish I were stupid. I wish I weren't cursed with an aptitude for reading comprehension and general knowledge because then things like President Donald Trump adding his name to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts would make sense. Now, the building is has been renamed the Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts, for some reason. He hasn't done anything substantial to deserve this distinction — other than stick a bunch of loyalists on the recently gutted board of trustees to make something like this happen, and worst of all, he installed the worst gay in American politics, Richard Grennell, as the president and interim executive director for America's cultural center. If I had worms for brains, I would be able to take the blatant lies he spews about how he "saved" the building because, before he assumed office, the center was in "such bad shape, physically, financially, and every other way" as he puts it. Did he provide any evidence to support these statements? No, because why would he need to? Nor did he get the proper approval to make this change officially. Being that the center was legally recognized as a memorial to the late President Kennedy in 1964, just a year after his assassination, it seems Trump would need Congressional approval to make this change legal. But who needs laws and the correct path when you have no regard for anyone other than yourself? His decision seems to have come as a shock to the Kennedy family, many of whom have spoken out against the decision on social media. Maria Shriver, JFK's niece, uploaded a post to X that reads: "Adding your name to a memorial already named in honor of a great man doesn’t make you a great man. Quite the contrary." She continued, "Putting your name on top of someone else’s doesn’t mean that people will speak of you in the same breath as the other man. Putting your name above another man’s name on his existing memorial… What is that about? Truly?" > — (@) Kerry Kennedy, the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy (not to be confused with the ill-informed director of the United States Department of Health and Human Services), also posted on X and expressed her disappointment with the move. "Three years and one month from today, I’m going to grab a pickax and pull those letters off that building, but I’m going to need help holding the ladder. Are you in? Applying for my carpenter’s card today, so it’ll be a union job!!!" > — (@) If I had Swiss-cheese holes in my brain, I would think that Trump forcing his way into America's most important cultural center was a smart move because then we could finally give Kid Rock the Kennedy Center honor he'd been robbed of for years. Who cares about Tina Turner, Carole King, Barbra Streisand, and Dionne Warwick receiving this honor as some of the greatest songwriters and performers of our lifetime? We need real American music back in our nation's capital (is something I would say if I opted out of using my brain and asked Elon Musk's Grok what "good" music is). According to the ___Washington Post,_ ticket sales are "the worst they’ve been in years" since Trump took office again. Yay! Who needs ticket sales anyway? It's actually great that "tens of thousands of seats have been left empty" because, as I wrote in my most recent column, theater etiquette has gone out the window, so at least I won't be accosted by the presence of other patrons. I desperately want to be stupid so that I can make sense of what is going on in this country. Every day feels like the worst-case scenario playing on a loop. I truly want to understand what millions of people who voted for this egotistical failure of a president who has only made life worse by stoking fear with deploying the National Guard into major metropolitan cities like Los Angeles and Chicago, or the unnecessarily brutal force of ICE that's caused panic amongst almost everyone in my life. I pray that one day I'll be dumb enough to understand what's going on in this country because common sense, empathy, tact, and intelligence don't mean anything in the face of inscrutable ignorance. _Moises Mendez II is a staff writer at_ Out _magazine. Heated Rivalry: Robbie G.K. wants more Kip and Scott—and to play a superhero
**Editor's note: This article contains spoilers for _Heated Rivalry_ season 1 episode 5, "I'll Believe in Anything," now streaming on HBO Max.** _Heated Rivalry_ has been a career-changing TV series for every single person who's played a part in it. From lead actors Connor Storrie (Ilya Rozanov) and Hudson Williams (Shane Hollander), to supporting characters like François Arnaud (Scott Hunter), to recurring actors like Robbie G.K. (Kip Grady). While all four actors playing love interests in the HBO Max/Crave original series are receiving well-deserved praise for their deeply committed performances, it's only fair to highlight G.K.'s particularly well-executed, lived-in, and charming-beyond-belief stint as Kip — a character who leads Rachel Reid's first book, ___Game Changer_ , alongside Scott Hunter in the literary series that inspired the TV show... But, on said TV show, is only introduced in episode 3, which inherently interrupts the main love story between Ilya and Shane that viewers had gotten obsessed with. It isn't until episode 5 that audiences see Kip for the second time overall, though it is felt as though he's been there all along, just like Shane, or llya, or Scott. During an interview with _Out_ , G.K. reacts to how fans have embraced Kip, his relationship with Scott, his father, and even his group of friends — turning the smoothie shop's "girl!" into a standout quote/meme of the series so far. The actor also discusses the ideas surrounding Kip and Scott's involvement in the now-confirmed second season of _Heated Rivalry_ , and reveals his desire to become an action movie star — perhaps even playing a superhero — when asked to dream big and look beyond the gay hockey series that's propelled his career to new heights. **_Out_ : I think it's fair to say that _Heated Rivalry_ has been a success beyond anyone's wildest imagination. In the first two episodes, people kind of knew, or theorized, that episode 3 would be about Scott and Kip. However, you were only able to talk about the show after that episode aired. How did this waiting process feel like?** Robbie G.K.: Yeah, it was tough, for sure! I really wanted to be chatting about it, and there were so many things that I was excited to share about the series. But, you know, I obviously have a ton of trust in Jacob [Tierney; _Heated Rivalry_ showrunner]. He and Brendan [Brady; executive producer] had kind of told me to keep things low-key, because this is kind of our strategy. I was like, "Yeah, you've got it." And then the first two episodes came out, and stuff was being posted on Instagram, and I was like, "We're _really_ keeping this a secret to the last second here." People had started to message me like, "I'm so excited to see Kip in the next episode." And I was like, "I don't really know how to respond to that because I can't really confirm or deny!" [_Laughs_.] But I think I was just very excited about it. I'm the type of person that, if I have a surprise for somebody, or if I give them a gift, you've gotta open it right now. I just can't contain my excitement. [_Laughs_.] So that was pretty tricky. **Sometimes I suck at keeping those secrets, too.** Don't tell me, or everyone else is gonna know. Robbie G.K. as Kip Grady; François Arnaud as Scott Hunter on _Heated Rivalry_ season 1 episode 3.HBO Max/Crave Canada **This is still a pretty unique situation, though. Even if you're already struggling to keep episode 3 a secret, I don't think you could've anticipated the pressure that you had to handle. The two first episodes just exploded in, like, one day. That must have been mind-blowing.** Yeah, it was. Because episode 3 is so different — obviously a very different storyline, different characters, totally different kind of tone than the first two — I was kind of anxious about it, to be honest. You know, people are obviously loving this, and I was really worried that people would be like, "Why are we focusing on these guys? Why are we focusing on this relationship?" I think that there was a little bit of that feedback as well, so I was kind of anxious about it. But I also thought that maybe people would like the change of pace. Maybe they'd be open to it, 'cause they really are such different worlds between Ilya and uh Shane's storyline, and then Scott and Kip's storyline. Obviously, Scott is still a professional hockey player, but Kip's world is so small compared to all the lights, and the flash, and the stakes, and everything. They're so different. Jacob called me, I think three or four days before episode 3 came out, and he was like, "Just letting you know, reception has been crazy, and the first two episodes are really blowing up, and that's great." And he was kind of like, "You know, brace for impact for that to happen as well with episode 3." But, um, I kind of didn't believe him? [_Laughs_.] I was just like… I don't know, I guess we'll wait and see how this all works out. I was happy to see it along with everyone else and be able to talk about it. **Even people who were like, "Oh, I don't know about this," have already changed their minds completely. The consensus I'm seeing right now is that people want a whole spinoff. They want a full story now, which is amazing. With season 2 being announced — and I'm not presuming you know anything about it, so I'm not going to put you in the spot — but would you be interested in exploring Kip's story even further?** Without a doubt. I mean, I'll separate into two different categories. First off, working with this team, working with Jacob and Brendan, I can truthfully say that this is the top tier of working as an actor; it is to work with a team like this. I had never felt more comfortable. Everyone was laughing every day; the vibe was so high every day. It took me back to when I was younger and making little short films with my cousins and friends. It just felt so fun. So that experience alone, I would love to be back in that environment with that team. And then, obviously, from a storyline perspective. I mean, absolutely. François and I were chatting the other day and talking about… You know, I can't really say anything as far as the next couple of episodes — I'm trying not to say any spoilers — but there's a whole world between Scott and Kip. If we chose to explore that more, I would be thrilled to just be a part of any and everything that I could get my hands on. Robbie G.K. as Kip Grady; François Arnaud as Scott Hunter on _Heated Rivalry_ season 1 episode 3.HBO Max/Crave Canada **There's a lot more to explore. I spoke with François about how Ilya and Shane are both hockey superstars who agree to keep things a secret, even if they don't like it. For Kip and Scott, though, it's different. Kip is completely out. He goes to gay bars, has friends, and has a life. Scott doesn't have a life. He's not just closeted in terms of sexuality; his walls are all the way up. Meanwhile, Kip is this free spirit. This tension was interesting, I thought, to play out in one episode, and to pull it off in a way that we're heartbroken by the end of episode 3. How do you see that dynamic between those two characters? And Kip, I guess, being willing to sacrifice his life, you know, for this relationship? It takes a good friend to snap him out of it.** I really feel like Kip and Scott are two puzzle pieces that click together because, to your point, Kip really has this whole world outside of "career success." Scott's character has obviously hit the ceiling as far as how high you can go and succeed, but Kip has a whole community that he's built around himself, and those are the two puzzle pieces that can snap well together. Scott is missing that friendship, that community, and his parents. Kip's world, even with his dad… which, also, is played by Matt Gordon], who's just phenomenal. I think [Matt is the internet's favorite person. Uh, I could ramble on about these guys 'cause they're all great, but I do feel like the two characters kind of complete each other in that way. I don't know if I'm answering your question well. **[_Laughs_.] Yes, you are! This does feel like a great crew and a great cast altogether. I also wanted to talk about the fantastic year that you've had. I don't think anyone could've predicted that this show would become this huge phenomenon. We were excited within queer media, but this is giving certified blockbuster. Crave recently announced that _Heated Rivalry_ is its biggest original series ever.** Yeah, I saw it, too. They posted on Instagram that it's Crave's No. 1 debut ever for an original series. It's honestly surreal. It's insane. Robbie G.K. as Riley and Mary Beth Barone as Grace on _Overcompensating_.A24/Prime Video **Earlier this year, you were on _Overcompensating_ , which also blew up. Just huge. And I think a lot of people are now revisiting those scenes and being like, "Oh my god, it's Robbie!" Especially in the end 'cause of that scene [redacted spoilers]. So you've had these huge titles this year. How has it been on a personal level, and on a professional level, to have these huge, unexpected leaps throughout the year?** Yeah, _Heated Rivalry_ aside, which has just been kind of an explosion, you know, out the gate… Honestly, _Overcompensating_ , I think that I filmed that two summers ago. [_Thinks_.] Yeah, I think two summers ago now. When I auditioned for it, I knew that it was kind of a smaller part or whatever. At the time, I was actually still working a full-time job in sales, downtown. I would literally be at work, and then I would bike, on my bike, to set, to go do that. And then go back to my job afterwards. So I filmed all of that and thought, "Oh, this is cool, whatever." And then _Overcompensating_ came out, and it obviously got a lot of buzz around it as well. It was cool. This year has been interesting for me. It's kind of the first time where my friends are watching shows that I happen to be in. [_Laughs_.] And that's a very weird, and kind of scary, thing. But it's also very cool. It's awesome to be able to point to stuff that, you know, is topical; that is easily accessible and people can watch on big platforms. I'm just beyond thrilled at this year. I'm currently playing a recurring character on CBS's _Sheriff Country_ , too. So I'm filming that at the moment as well. I play a cop in that, which is totally… [_Laughs_.] You know, versus what I'm doing in _Heated Rivalry_. **Totally different, that's for sure.** Totally different. So it's been a wild year, honestly. I think going into Christmas season now, I'll have a chance to really look back and, you know, just savor every moment that this year has brought. I'm just beyond grateful for all these opportunities, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the next surprise is this year, I guess… Or next year. > See on Instagram **You mentioned working a full-time job in sales, which reminded me of these memes going around and joking, like, "So a guy looks like this and works at a juice shop?" But here you were, working a full-time job in sales while filming _Overcompensating_. Have you been seen any of these _Heated Rivalry_ memes?** I've seen maybe one or two, yeah. And the comments, which are very funny. My friends send them to me. It's a good laugh. **You posted a photo with the other actors who play Kip's friends on the show. I mean, one of the standout quotes of the entire show is "Girl…" "Girl!" What was it like working with those actors who unfortunately had less screen time but who were all just amazing?** Yeah! It really felt like a fully thought-out world around Kip, and every actor, like Bianca Nugara] who played Maria, Kip's co-worker, in the smoothie shop — she brought so much life and character to that. Those little bits, and little moments. I'm so glad that the internet, and just people in general, are giving her and the other actors like Nadine, and Brandon [Ash-Mohammed], and [Matthew [Finlan] — and all of these people who kind of fill out this world — the flowers they deserve. Because, really, like I said previously, without Kip's community, I think the charm of that whole storyline wouldn't land. It's also a testament, obviously, to Rachel Reid's writing, and Jacob's direction, being able to add these little things in, which feel like the perfect amount to build enough character. And, obviously, the actors who play all these characters are phenomenal. They were great to work with. I had a great time with Nadine [Bhabha], too, who plays Elena. I saw a whole bunch of like fan posts about her, calling her "mother," or "queen," and all this stuff, which is great. We had a ton of fun on set. All those days at the bars, we were all like, you know, goofing around, chatting, and actually talking. I'm just so… It's great when people can be friends off camera. And then, you know, everything on camera just feels like what we're doing anyway. We're having fun. Robbie G.K. (Kip Grady), Bianca Nugara (Maria), Matthew Finlan (Kyle Swift), Brandon Ash-Mohammed (Shawn), Nadine Bhabha (Elena Rygg) via Instagram Story.Instagram (@robsgk) **Looking ahead, any dream projects you'd like to work on? Is it film, or more TV, or perhaps theater? What would you like to do next?** Well, I actually grew up doing musical theater; funny you mention it. I was like, "Oh my goodness, Rob," because that was my first professional acting job: Musical theater. That's primarily what I did up until, probably, the last like six or seven years. But, moving forward, honestly? A longtime dream of mine is to be a series regular, or a lead, in some type of action film, or cop show, or something like that. I would love to use, or to leverage, my dancing background. I also played competitive sports. I still play rugby on the weekends and compete with a club in Vancouver. I would love to bundle that all up into some role in the future. So, whether that be something in the Marvel universe, or DC universe, or anything… If I'm able to act and have a great time doing it, I could die happy, for sure. **_Heated Rivalry_ is streaming on HBO Max. Explore the **_**Out**_**watch guide below.** * ********The first five episodes of _Heated Rivalry_ season 1 are already available for streaming. * Robbie G.K. is featured in episode 3 ("Hunter") and episode 5 ("I'll Believe in Anything"). * _Heated Rivalry_ episode 6 — the season 1 finale — will be released on Friday, December 26 on HBO Max.

Bowen Yang to leave SNL after Ariana Grande and Cher episode
Bowen Yang is reportedly leaving _Saturday Night Live_ after being on the NBC sketch comedy show for seven seasons and returning for an eighth season. Even though Yang's departure had been heavily speculated over the past few months, the comedian, actor, and _Las Culturistas_ cohost did renew his contract despite the pre-season 51 mass exodus of _SNL_ that included exits from cast members and/or writers such as Ego Nwodim, Celeste Yim, Heidi Gardner, and Emil Wakim, among others. Overall, this announcement means that Yang's last episode as a regular cast member ("repertory player") on _Saturday Night Live_ will air this Saturday, December 20, featuring his _Wicked_ and _Wicked: For Good_ costar Ariana Grande as the host, and none other than Cher as musical guest. Yang has yet to comment on the news via social media or in a press release. Nonetheless, the idea of leaving _SNL_ after doing a full episode with Ariana Grande and Cher as the two featured guests feels a pretty delightful, dazzling, and dreamy gay fantasy. As seen in the teaser below, Yang has gotten slapped by Cher while being told him to "snap out of it." Is there a gayer way to leave the show? We don't think so, honey. > See on Instagram While it is not a conventional departure, Yang isn't the first _Saturday Night Live_ star to leave the show halfway through a season. In the past, cast members like Eddie Murphy, Cecily Strong, and Dana Carvey all left _SNL_ before their respective seasons had ended. Yang has now entered that list of mid-season exits, and he will certainly be missed by audiences who tune in to watch the show in 2026, without him. _This story is still developing…_

According to the report, Atlanta is the "horniest city," while Yonkers claimed the top spot for the largest average endowment. But the most surprising information comes from a look at the sexualities of the people who use the app. The report says that the biggest group of users on the app identifies as bisexual or bicurious, with 42.3 percent of users identifying that way. Since 25 percent identify as straight or straight-curious, that means that less than a third of Sniffies users identify as gay!
