I cross there often. Pedestrians and bikers know that you can't trust drivers to stop to let you cross, and that the blinkers don't compel drivers to stop. So why even bother replacing it?

Police officers are not warriors, and must not be allowed to behave like warriors. Most riots begin with police provocations. I expect the mayor to do whatever it takes to put a stop to that sort of dynamic.

My wife and I cross Summit in that area every day. She doesn't see well so she's always been scared to cross without a light. That these people were hit in the crosswalk with the light is horrifying to her.

If we want to extract tribute we must first make them fear us. The mayor should convene a taskforce on how to create terror in the rest of the state.
