Politics is subject to Conway's Law: change communication structures and you will change systems. The way forward is to give up the idea of globally-scoped software mediated by centralized power structures.
These principles name the opposite of the oppressive design elements being used against us, but like other cyberlibertarian frameworks, they stop short of the root cause: politics. Liberation depends on shifting political power, because power determines which values take hold.

The appetite for local-first software is growing
This is why I’ve fully stopped trusting cloud services for any kind of information management and started jury-rigging my own tools, even if they need significantly more effort to make them into good tools than I have afforded them

The appetite for local-first software is growing
Overall the presentation went well. The second half was a bit rushed and highlighted how important dry runs are in establishing pacing.
Dream is my worldview as a pattern and I will be refining this talk as a way to convey it.
