In June 2009, OutHistory honored the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots by publishing nine pages of New York City Police Department records created early on the morning of the rebellion’s starting date, June 28, 1969.

Trumping the Trumpians introduces and reprints a set of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests filed against the Trump Administration. Prompted by and in partnership with OutHistory, American Oversight filed these requests in May 2025.

In February 2025, OutHistory Director Marc Stein wrote to Lambda Legal Defense about how to best address the new Trump administration. "One idea of mine might require some legal support; it’s to file a series of FOIA requests to obtain info on how exactly anti-LGBTQ govt actions are happening.” 

Trumping the Trumpians: OutHistory and American Oversight, 2025, by Marc Stein introduces and reprints a set of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests filed against the Trump Administration in response to federal government attacks on LGBTQ history. Prompted by and in partnership with OutHistory, American Oversight filed these requests in May 2025.
