Accidentally hetero, aspiring writer, avid consumer of Sci fi and fantasy, and mother of 6 awesome kids. Jason is the love of my life <3
One big reason I hate working in tech is that by the end of the work day, my brain is dissolved to mush that makes it basically impossible to do any writing.

Hey #writers, can anyone point me to any helpful videos or articles on outlining? So far I've just been doing paragraph summaries of each chapter, and I don't think it's working for me.

I guess I can make an intro post too, even if no one sees it.

I'm a sys admin, though I loathe the industry in which I work.

I'm a fantasy writer, and though I've finished a book, I have yet to publish. Someday, maybe.

I enjoy video games, movies, and history/archeology.

Glad to meet you!

I like fanfic as a method of practicing the art of writing. I learned by role playing on a Wheel of Time MUD. But fanfic should not be published outside of specific platforms dedicated to that space.
I’m not a fan of this uptick in retooling fanfiction for publishing. Fanfic relies on an IP foundation and exists in conversation with other fics and readers. Stripped of that, what’s often left are hollow worlds and characters that lack the depth to fully interact with their settings.

All of these lovely posts by writers, both established and aspiring, has rekindled my desire to finish my book.

Things that happened after I turned 38 that I never imagined would happen in my life:

- I became a professional artist
- I released a game with good reviews on PC Gamer and Edge
- I made a cover for Image Comics
- I'm starting to read sheet music
- I'm making more games

There's still time, people.
