Yeah that makes so much sense! Perfect pairing. Valley of flowers seems like such a killer setting. I even had fun just reading through it.

It’s a little condensed overall but when it’s all assembled it’s a pretty cool hex map board. It’s kind of unique. It’s like 6 puzzle pieces that fit together instead of a typical fold out

Jealous! That sounds like a killer duo, wow.

Part 3 is here. The deep dive into the Ennies. If you're someone who doesn't know much about the Ennie Awards, you should read parts 1 and 2. But if you like a bit of inside baseball and are interested in award shows in general—this is the article for you.

How are the Ennies designed?
An insider's look into the 2025 Ennie Awards. Part three. How does the structure of the Ennies determine its outcomes? And what does it mean for others?

This interview with @jdragsky.bsky.social is so killer and inspiring. Something I say a lot when talking about TTRPGS is that the book IS the game and therefore the art IS the game. But Jay takes it to another level.

"A thing that I'm really thinking about is the holistic quality of the game. This is a game that, even if you don't ever actually get a group together to play it, it enriches your life and it provides you with meaning and you can sit down with it and engage with it."

This 1982 “Riddle of the Ring” board game looks really vibey and the rules seem fun. Going to have to give it a try soon.

So thrilled for Tabletop Bookshelf. Cant wait to visit and have P&P nights there!

My goal is to finish it's creation by the end of the month. We shall see how it goes!
outridercreative.bsky.social
Gonna try to finish it by the end of the month. The main challenge will be completing all my non-cheese dungeon related tasks as well.
outridercreative.bsky.social
I have important work to get done but all I can think about is Cheese Dungeon.

That’s fair. I just like to bully everyone I know into drawing.
outridercreative.bsky.social
The cool air and light rain this morning is really not making the case for waking up any better.
outridercreative.bsky.social
Cool thing about drawing is anyone can learn to draw! Just look on you tube, grab some library books and a couple pencils and go for it.

Cannot recommend this game highly enough. Had another banger session last night with it playtesting the adventure I’m working on.

And it’s not just the killer princess theme, Ryan is doing really good stuff with the mechanics here that more OSR folks should be checking out.

I've distributed over 600 community copies of Perils & Princesses and I just put up a bunch more, in case you've been meaning to check out this game, but haven't had the means: outrider-creative.itch.io/perils-and-p...

Does slurping neon yellow chicken-flavored noodle soup restore 1d6 HP? Probably.

Hell yeah Bobby Nelsons. There's also Tim and Tom's with the antique store a little further. Maybe Sir George Webb is a wight. Is this a campaign now?

I'm sorry to say you must tantrum away. The main reason I'm doing it is so that I can illustrate it!

I kind of want to use “Morktober” as an excuse to finally write up a dungeon I’ve had rolling around in my head. It’s inspired by Irish folklore and Mars Cheese Castle.
A photo of Mars Cheese Castle from the 1970s. It’s a roadside cheese shop with a large bold sign with block letters. The details of the shop’s construction are made to resemble castle turrets and crenellations.

Totally. Anything that's like...an engagement "hack" is depressing. Mispronouncing words so people correct you. Rage bait. All those little games to trick the robot into bringing your silly little video to more people.
outridercreative.bsky.social
I mean, I do things for engagement. It's how I sell my art and games and find clients. Sometimes it's depressing and sometimes it's fun. It's way less depressing when it's sharing stuff I think is cool and then other folks engage with it by saying "oh yeah, that is cool. Thanks for sharing"
outridercreative.bsky.social
Right! Doing “for engagement” is also a bad move because the first people your vid is going to be seen by is other people (or bots, let’s me real) in the circle of folks that disagree with you.

Part of the problem for me is that you think it’s gonna be cathartic to drop your big comment or video and call someone out, But the apps want you back so bad, So rather than being done you get drawn into a lengthy nonsense argument that will just cast a bummer on your whole day.
