TTRPG designer, writer, very tired.
Highlights: debating the morality of a cow stealing, barely winning combat against a single wolf, knights threatening to kill people, some of the players IMMEDIATELY roleplaying being superior and weird in the way their witches are supposed to be.

Next week: Outcast village, the omens continue.

They arrive at a farm where no one talks to them, decide not to stay. Strange lights in the sky, dreams of endless teeth. A wolf acts really strange and the 7 witches barely barely manage to subdue it since they are all severely underpowered since, aside from their powers, they’re just peasants.

1st a village, few days there, practice spells, everyone suspicious. Met a knight, 1 of the witches casts a spell to learn he’s investigating rumors. Nearly kills 1, knights are dicks. An argument about if they should steal a cow following them. Middle of the night exit, probably not safe to return.

It's just that---maybe when you spend your days actually doing good in the world, spending effort to measure people's hearts against the shape-sorter-toy of "most moral type of elf game" feels faintly absurd.

I may be already be working on this. Very rules light, OSR-esque when you're doing something outside of magic. You were a peasant, you aren't good at most things. But when you do magic, which might get you killed, you use one of 24 randomly rolled witches, all with bonkers, OP abilities. Like this:
