30 minutes later, STILL trying to create a simple Azure VM.
Either I have the worst luck, or Azure VMs are just miserable pieces of crap.
I DON'T have any issues creating EC2 VMs. They spin up in seconds. No obtuse/odd errors like "doh! we couldn't find your subscription" or ... crap like:

Absolutely DOPE to be able to finally specify CPU core counts in EC2 instances. Hands-down one of the best things to happen for SQL Server in years.

It's entirely possible that I've got a bit out of control with the admindb/S4... I just noticed the line-numbers when deploying an update into a client's environment:
