Inarguably, the climactic moment of the Fight of the Century, between Muhammad Ali and Smokin' Joe Frazier, March 8, 1971. I got to meet them both when I directed Facing Ali. What a thrill. #MuhammadAli #JoeFrazier #boxing

When Larry Holmes fought Muhammad Ali in 1980, trainer Angelo Dundee didn't stop the fight 3 rounds too late. It was 5 years too late. Ali was slurring & had early Parkinson's, fighting the BEST fighter in the world. It was insane to let him fight. From Facing Ali. @boxinghistory.bsky.social

I'm hoping Bluesky is wonderful and nuanced, and even that people like what I do. But behind that optimism, and between documentaries, I wrote this lyric...the rest of the song just keeps digging...

Is Bluesky really where all the goodness happens? I hope so. But in between documentaries, I did write this line in a song...I wish you joy and greatness with the films.

Charles Barkley, who is a Democrat, had this to say to Democrats—and I've decided to take it as a prescription for my whole life in general.

The opening riff / hook and the half-chorus on R.E.M.'s Losing My Religion was written by Peter Buck on mandolin. It's not the first big hit with a mandolin opening. Who remembers this Canadian classic from 1971? And how about that hat?

Anybody feel like forgetting the news for a while and going out all day on their mustang bike, no helmet, no destination? Me, too. But I can't right now, so I wrote a song about it instead. open.spotify.com/track/4e00in...

Yesterday, I finished directing a film on the life of Joe Frazier. Fifteen years ago I directed Facing Ali. Got to meet them both. Here is the arguably most famous moment between them. What are your favourite shocking and famous moments in all of sport?
