5. A man at a coffee shop trying to guess where the barista was from based on her accent. She seemed closed off but polite. A few minutes later her friend came up and offered her a cup of mate he had just brewed and she had the biggest smile on her face.

4. a man on a bike near Waterlooplein pulled to the side and motioned for a group of guys to come over. they started speaking to him in Dutch. he said "Oh I don't speak Dutch, only English". One of the guys started laughing and said "Oh, you look so Dutch!" (he did)

3. woman entering the visa line who loudly insisted to an officer that she had an ID card. her voice grew louder and louder. I saw her face and thought she was beautiful. when she got in the line, she snapped around and yelled at the woman behind her to back up and give her space. her face was ugly.

2. a well-dressed older couple. i first noticed the woman in the queue for the bathroom, she was wearing this beautiful long navy coat and had one of those asymmetrical bobs that framed her face perfectly. i imagined she was traveling to give an art lecture and her husband came along with her.
