There are some words we reclaim, laugh at, use in jest. But it doesn't mean that the history of the word go away.

I understand that it is a general purpose word for some cultures. But it's still based on women's genatalia being this bad thing.

We do this with b!tch (which is more about the idea of being female rather than genatalia) , pu$$y, dick.

A$$hole is truly gender neutral. 😉

Republi"CUNT". Unfortunately, many of our curse words are sex/genitalia based which does make a statement about how we feel about men/women.
