2011 - 2024 art improvement 🎨

I left no stone unturned to find those early gems 😅 I've been reflecting on my art journey for a while. I started doing commissions as soon as I could open a paypal. Art has been with me my whole life. Enjoy ✨

In 2011 the art is made in MS paint and very rudimentary, and by 2015 the art has a basic grasp of early fundamentals and experiments heavily with lighting and style. A collage of art from 2016-2020, with four per year, detailing improvement and a short sentence about the year and its happenings. In 2016 the art begins to improve heavily, with clean lines and understanding of light and shadows. By 2020 the art style is heavily developed for bright colors and palettes with many signatures such as big lips and spiky eyelashes being consistent. A collage of art from 2021-2024, with four per year, detailing improvement and a short sentence about the year and its happenings. In 2021 all four pictures are on-base adopts that are well-drawn but ultimately still on a base. The artist was bedbound and disabled all of 2021 and had to learn how to draw while completely horizontal in bed, and was not able to draw new pictures from scratch. By 2024 the art shows an understanding of concepts such as bounce light, lineless painting, atmosphere, backgrounds, and palette balancing. An excerpt at the end reads: "I've been through a lot - I started drawing because my parents didn't want to pay for school so I've been truant since I was 10. I spent all day reading tutorials & watching speedpaints to be able to support myself on my art when I became an adult. Then my health crashed but I still needed to pay for things, so personal art was rare. I'm happy and fulfilled in my life and career now and it shows in my art. -BLAKE" #bskyart #ocsky #art #supportartists
