One of these things is I mean impossible and the other one involves me going to jail, sooo... respectfully pass? ❤️

*sexy* murder poet to be terminology accurate

That's what most undergrad essays (in history type disciplines) are about though?
You're learning about a topic and then writing about what you learned (which necessarily involves repeating and agreeing or disagreeing with a source).
You're rarely coming up with your own ideas.

I am not denying that humanities and social sciences are rigorous (as a history/polisci undergrad lol), just that it's probably just harder to FAIL an essay (assuming you do the bare minimum) than to fail an exam.
December 12, 2025 at 7:53 AM
Yes, but that doesn't have to do (directly) with undergraduate education and how easy/hard it is to pass an exam vs. essay
December 12, 2025 at 7:51 AM
That's a seperate point though!

"purely residential"
Student housing IS residential housing

The obvious conclusion is that you don't ACTUALLY believe what you're saying (because why aren't you doing anything about it)

Because currently it doesn't look like the Democrats think Trump has committed impeachable offenses.
If you think someone committed impeachable offenses (and you constantly yell about how said person is corrupt, breaking the law, a war criminal etc.) and then you don't try and fix the problem...

1. Impeachment isn't a criminal trial per se
2. He has done a LOT of very obvious things that are impeachable
December 12, 2025 at 12:39 AM
But none of that has to do with undergrad education marking
December 12, 2025 at 12:34 AM
I sincerely doubt that it's half the class.

Why a recall, there's a line of succession for a reason.
December 11, 2025 at 10:42 PM
And unlike in a parliamentary system, you don't need to have an election (TECHICALLY you don't in a parliamentary system but I digress ofc), the government can function the same throughout!
December 11, 2025 at 10:42 PM
Why shouldn't Congress be able to throw out a President whenever it appears necessary?
Who cares about having a referendum etc. That's what the line of succession is for!
And if you have to keep impeaching until you get to a non-impeachable person, GOOD! THEY SHOULDN'T BE IN POWER THEN!
December 11, 2025 at 10:41 PM
There is no law of impeachment though?
December 11, 2025 at 10:38 PM
Parliamentarians also "try" budgets, that's what debate is for!
December 11, 2025 at 10:38 PM
I mean, there's nothing saying it CAN'T be that!
December 11, 2025 at 10:37 PM
Vs.
Essay is 500 words too short
Only cites 3 sources instead of recommended 10
Arguments are either in contradiction to sources (used or unused) or just very factually wrong
Does not answer the question.
Like that (or some combination) is a FAILURE (as opposed to just a not very good essay)
December 11, 2025 at 9:52 PM
I would say:
Word count roughly correct
Cites sources correctly (no bad plagiarism)
Makes an argument that the sources at least partly support
Answers relevant essay question is applicable
- like that's a passing essay, I don't see how you can FAIL that?
December 11, 2025 at 9:50 PM
Getting a humanities degree with actually good marks indicates above average proficiency already!
(Or it should, grade inflation etc.)
December 11, 2025 at 9:48 PM
Sure, but like, what are those standards and how does that help anybody other than justifying yourself to STEM people who ACTUALLY might not be able to write a 5 page essay (not all STEMbros, I know lol)
