I was once told by an old Canadian chum, it’s because of you do an L with both thumbs and forefingers and put them together, it’s a square - a derogatory term for geeks, etc.

If you wanna go further back, I highly, highly recommend Keith Giffesn and JM Dematteis’ Justice League which began in ‘87.
Basically reinvented the team comic as a sitcom and its influence was all over Gunn’s Superman.

Doubtful. There was the Disney+ show where he met Northstar and Hulkling which was very badly reviewed by the audience appreciation panel before release, so it got shelved, never to see the light of day.

I loved the Finn / Poe argument in the corridor evoking Han and Leia in ESB - I very fleetingly wondered if they were going somewhere with that, but they were just teasing.

(I love that film too, but let’s face it, it’s an almost identical remake of the OG).
