If the Palestinians had the overwhelming upper hand as Israel has it, they would not hesitate to exterminate 10 million Jews in order to destroy Israel. Or do you think they do not live by the "throw all the Jews into the sea" aspiration, which was pursued by the surrounding Arab states in 3 wars?

Agree, but it would be fine if it didn't increase an already existing disadvantage against an uncivilised attacker who occupies your territory & kills ur people. In WW2 the allies had uncivilised moments, given the uncivilised evil on the other side few blame them. Loosing would have been far worse.

Why is it that Ukraine is not doing something similar to the Russian use of "cheap" mercenaries, being that the only real advantage Russia has is the manpower?

Pushing the UK back towards the EU.
Pushing the EU & Canada away from the US and towards its adversaries. All because of a megalomania legacy idea of territory aquisition. Nearly as great a tactician as Putin.
Let's see how the US economy & the AI race will fare if ASML starts looking towards China.

Its become clear that Trumps administration is on Russias side in this conflict.

He has his eye on annexing Canada. The reason he's doing all Putins favours in annexing Ukrainian land is because he wants to create a precedent for his own plans and also in exchange to receive free steel from Russia to offset the economic impact of his dangerous decisions.

DOGE?
He's spending all his time tweeting. Literally hundreds of tweets per day.
If he's not paying someone else to tweet for him (wouldn't be the first time) there's no time left to do anything else.

I assume this all changed when he bought Twitter where he needed to increase traffic and what better way than to create a polarising situations.
Second he became convinced that Trump would be his vehicle, so he needed to resonate with the mentality of his harcore supporters.

Meanwhile Peskov just today said essentially the exact same thing, so this selective bashing of Zelensky while not even mentioning the Kremlin press secretary, once again proves that he is aligned with the Russians.

And his followers are so blind that if he now comes out with some "it was all a reuse to trick Putin, I support Ukraine", from repeating Kremlin propaganda they'll start waving Ukrainian flags. Regardless, even a hypocritical change like that would be better than what is currently happening.

Maybe seeing that Europe will not back down he doesn't want to appear like the weak guy that stepped aside only for others to step up. Maybe the "Russian puppet" thing is actually striking a chord. Maybe he'll just repeat more of the same. With this guy, no one knows what's going on in his head.

Many people voted him for his anti-immigration or anti-woke stance, thinking that in regards to foreign policy he would be contained by more traditional republicans like in the first term. Even after his election many that voted for him thought (or hoped) his pro-Russia stance was a reuse.

The point is that the problem is the current US administration. The majority of Americans don't agree with Trumps ideas on the war and I'm sure if you poll the US army the vast majority will be in support of Ukraine, so being hostile to everything US isn't the solution either.
March 1, 2025 at 7:43 PM
The people who said that do not care. They were just pro-Russians who will say pro-Russian things to support their cause no matter if it is ridiculous or a lie.
Presenting them with facts, hoping they will understand they are wrong makes no sense, because for them being right wasn't even the point.
February 25, 2025 at 2:09 PM
Pro-Russian parties will use these type talking points, so no surprise. We'll probably see the pro-Russian government say the same at some point.
On the other hand Slovak pro-West/pro-Ukraine parties call to assist Ukraine prevail, but since they are currently not in power their voice is heard less.

From 43/year to 65/year. This is the type of increase that's required if Russia is to be defeated. When Putin has made his economy military focused and is pumping more tanks than before, the West must make sure to be a step ahead. Doing the same (or less) as 3 years ago is no longer enough.

Maybe the CDU in Germany and Duda in Poland can at last make him understand that being a serious conservative, and being a populist far-right Russian asset are two different things.

From that 33% of the GOP, probably half of it didn't believe it before, but also is from the MAGA group who shape their beliefs based on what Trump says. On the plus side, this means 67% of the GOP are resisting the cult mentality.

As per Russias own propagandists, in regards to Ukraine, Trump just repeats what he was told/taught by Putin. Trying to guess if Reagan would have approved.

Meanwhile in Russia: state TV host Vladimir Solovyov boasts that Trump's information comes straight from Putin after their 1 1/2 hour long phone call, as well as the preceding 3 1/2 hour long conversation between Putin and Trump's buddy Steve Witkoff.

He says "Russian citizens" as if those citizens are not soldiers occupying Ukrainian land while trying to conquer the rest. Lula is the political embodiment of that part of the far-left that will support anything they consider anti-Western/Nato, even if it means aligning with dictators or terrorists
