15y ago today I was just starting to work on Sintel, amazed by this "new way of lighting" by bouncing light off surfaces (!), mindblowing for any Blenderhead at the time.
That was the addition of irradiance cache to Blender Internal, it never got merged but it sparked its replacement: Cycles 🧡 #b3d
